#GiveBackSpotlight: Earlier this month, our Community Foundation presented Waterbury Youth Services with a check to aid in their "Linking Academics to Life" program. Thank you for the wonderful work you do in our local communities!

Youth stipends are just one way to distinguish our after school program for high school students from all others. The stipends are affected by the youth’s program attendance as well as their attendance record at their high school. The stipends also allow youth from low-income families, who would otherwise have to work to help out at home, to remain 100% focused on their academics.

Partners like People's United Community Foundation help make this program possible. Pictured: Karen Galbo, Executive Director and Tom Burden, Sr. Market Manager & VP from People's United Bank present WYS Executive Director Kathi M. Crowe (center) with a gift of support for WYS' "Linking Academics to Life" program. Funds from this grant award will be used for youth stipends and program supplies.
