Dear Preschool Family,
We hope you are all staying safe and healthy. We wanted to share the “Masks for Heroes” fundraiser being organized by some of our preschool families.
As we all know, our heroic doctors, nurses, and medical staff are working around the clock, risking their lives and putting the lives of their family members at risk, in order to save others during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Many friends and members of our community work on the frontlines of this epic fight at Suburban and Shady Grove Hospitals, and have brought to our attention that these local hospitals are not immune to the national funding-related shortage of personal protective equipment.
Therefore we are reaching out to our preschool community for help. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised will go straight to the purchase of masks.
As the majority of us sit at home, safely social distancing, let's show our heroes that we are behind them, and are so appreciative of their courageous efforts to keep us safe!
Click below to view the fundraising link and thank you for your support!
Hi Preschool Fam!
We would love for you to share your child reciting his or her line/poem since we unfortunately could not hold our annual Greek Independence Day program.
Please post your video on Facebook and Instagram and tag us!

Dear Preschool Family,
Today, March 25, 2020, we celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation and Greek Independence Day. For us Greeks, living outside Greece, today takes on a special meaning. The double celebration honors the Mother of God, the Theotokos, and the faith that sustained the Greek people through the hard years of Ottoman oppression and then through the brutal years of war in the fight for freedom.
Today marks the 199th anniversary of Greek Independence Day. Today, we remember our ancestors’ long struggle, an effort that eventually leads to Greece’s independence.

Hi Preschool Family!
Please view this list of parishioner owned food businesses who have supported our church with generous donations over the years.
It is our turn to do our part to help them during this shutdown that could have devastating consequences to the food and hospitality industry. We can help by ordering curb-side pick up, delivery, grocery shopping and purchasing gift cards to use at a later date if available. Let us stand by them and show them our community spirit!
Also, please join us for Divine Liturgy via live video stream. Visit stgeorge.org/live. Links will be active 15 minutes prior to the start of service. Such a blessing to be able to view and listen from home.
Stay safe and healthy! 💙🇬🇷❤️🇬🇷
Happy Birthday from the Preschool Family Father Dimitri James Antokas!! We love you and hope to see you soon!!
Dear St. George Greek Preschool Parents,
Due to the ongoing and increased challenges presented by COVID-19 and in accordance with Montgomery County Public School closings and health guidance from the CDC, the preschool will be closed from Monday, 3/16 to Friday 3/27. The teachers and I have met and have prepared a plan in which materials will be sent home to engage students during these two weeks. These will include worksheets and interactive activities that you can work on with your children. Please expect a detailed email from your child’s teacher by Sunday, March 15.
Thank you for your support and patience as we move through this challenging time. This situation is unprecedented. We are closely monitoring the development of the coronavirus and will be in communication with any updates.
We want to reassure you that keeping our families protected and secure is our top priority. I encourage your prayers for the good health of all in our community.
