Reserve your spot at https://eagleeyetutoring.as.me/schedule.php
Since we tackled math last week, we thought it only fair that we give the English section its due. Tonight, we will do a review of the English section focusing on punctuation, pronouns, and style. During the complimentary Zoom session, I will integrate slides with specific examples of how these rules are applied to the ACT. This will be a great time to make sure that you completely understand how everything, especially the punctuation (especially the commas!!), works.

The date for the June ACT test will be either June 13 or June 20, as a makeup. The July test will be on the 18th, with the 25th as a makeup. Fall testing will occur in September, October and December as usual, with the option of taking the test online at home. Please see below for more details from the ACT. We will contact you with further information as soon as it is released.
For additional information you can go to https://www.act.org

Garrett's Q&A, keep the questions coming!
Q- Has the ACT been rescheduled?
A- The ACT is still insisting that the June test will be held. (We called and confirmed). If you are scheduled to take a test at a location that does not open for it, the ACT will hold the test when that location is allowed to open, rather than moving those students to the already scheduled July 18th test. Clearly, keeping an eye on the ACT website will be important to determine which locations are going to hold the regularly scheduled tests, and what the dates of the postponed tests will be. We will update you when we see any changes on this front as best we can.
http://leadershipblog.act.org/2020/03/act-reschedules-april-2020.html

Garrett's Q&A, ask anything!
Q: What is happening with the SATs?
A: The next SAT will be held in August, so I think that students should hold off on further official prep until June. That does not mean that I think they should be idle on the SAT front: the SAT question of the day, consistent review of flashcards, and reading will be important, so students are ready when they do start prepping again.🗓️✔️🎯

TESTING IN THE TIME OF COVID-19✅
🗓️How to use the new test dates to your advantage🗓️
Once again, testing dates are being pushed back - sensibly, in my opinion! This presents a real advantage to students who prepare. Many of the students taking the July and September ACT and the August and September SATs, will not have been inside a classroom for as many as five months. Distance learning is fine, but it is no replacement for actual classroom instruction: math skills across the country will be very rusty.
This means that those students who continue to review math (especially the math found on these tests) will be at an advantage since the test is curved. (How the curve is generated is complicated, but this should still have some impact.) So the trick will be to regularly review and practice. Flashcards are ideal since research has confirmed that consistent self-quizzing is the best way to lodge information into long-term memory. Eagle Eye has created ACT flashcards (link #1 below) for the math and English skills most frequently tested on recent ACTs. Also, be sure to take advantage of free online tests for both the SAT and ACT as well as the College Board question of the day (link #2 below) - so you can practice.

Trying to relearn material is brutal. The trick is not to forget it in the first place! Rock on!
