A research center dedicated to the study of the Black Sea-Caspian region.
The Center for Black Sea-Caspian Studies, formerly with American University, is an independent institution that focuses scholarly attention on the increasingly important Black Sea-Caspian region. Through research, analysis, and innovative collaboration with local counterparts, the Center is initiating several studies to develop comprehensive multidisciplinary knowledge and understanding of the region’s pressing security, political, economic, and societal problems, as well as its potential. We will dedicate special effort to the genesis and analysis of the region’s conflicts and creative means of conflict prevention and resolution.
Mission: The Center will conduct a comprehensive background analysis of the major challenges and opportunities in the Black Sea-Caspian region, using the available data on demography, social-economic and military-security potential, as well as the results of representative surveys, focus group analysis, and interviews on perceptions and attitudes.

INTRA-REGIONAL TRADE IN CAMCA REGION: Current Trends and Growing Opportunities
❗️We are grateful to the U.S. House of Representatives for passing the historic GEORGIA SUPPORT ACT today!🇬🇪🇺🇸
The first standalone legislation on #Georgia had been championed by the Georgia Caucus co-chairs -- Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) with bipartisan support from 31 co-sponsors from democratic and republican parties.
🔴The Act declares the United States’ continuous support for the independence and sovereignty of Georgia, affirms U.S. opposition to occupation of the Georgian territories by the Russian Federation and its aggressive actions in the region, recognizes Georgia’s commitment to democratic values, and directs the U.S. government in deepening defense and security cooperation aimed at enhancement of Georgia’s deterrence, resilience, and self-defense.
