"He had more control of [his treatment] plan": Former Art Ther...

One of our former art therapists, Jenny, figured out through an art therapy session that a patient didn’t understand what a bone marrow transplant really was. Because Jenny had a close relationship with the patient’s medical team, she was able to alert them of her concerns so they could help the young boy better understand – and regain a sense of control over – his treatment plan.

"They're not just their diagnosis": Art Therapist Kristen Ramsey
"I think one of the things we do best at Tracy's Kids is let kids explore and nurture and expand their identity beyond just being a patient. They're not just their diagnosis." Kristin Ramsey, an art therapist at our program at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, says it best. At Tracy's Kids, we let kids be kids - despite the emotional stress and trauma of cancer and its treatment. Consider helping us spread the art of healing this holiday season. Bubble Sculpture
At Tracy's Kids Inova Fairfax Children's Hospital, we've had some summer fun with giant bubble sculptures. Enjoy!

And here's the exciting conclusion of the block tower escapade!

Our annual celebration of Tracy's Kids was a great success. We won't soon forget Tom Brokaw's compelling story of how cancer upended his life and his wish to take on the battle for the children he met in hospitals along the way. Congratulations to Courage Award winners Fred Upton and Congresswoman Diana DeGette and thanks to our Red Carpet Hosts Congressman Bob Goodlatte, Greg Walden and Senator Patrick Leahy

Tracy's Kids art therapy program helps young cancer patients work together, have fun, and just be kids even at the hospital! Check out our new music video, in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6W8Spj7R7rY

And here's another clip of our famous singers and friends!

Today a kids' choir from St. Mary's Episcopal church in Arlington sang for the kids in clinic--and our very own Matthew and Peter joined in!
