I just want to say thank you for all you do to promote education, to promote physical therapy, to train practitioners in dry needling, and to defend our profession and skills against the naysayers. I practice in Colorado, trained with KinetaCore, and am trying to find a voice for PTs who practice dry needling. There is still much tension here. Harsh words and scare tactics thrown around about PTs who dry needle everyday. I look to your page to learn, find out what's in the news, and stay current with the world of dry needling. I fully appreciate your detailed responses when approached with criticisms and falsehoods. I wrote a few recent blogs on my website about dry needling and the attacks that come with it. I'd like you to read them if you have time. But I won't pollute your page with my links. I just mainly want to say that I appreciate all of your work and thank you for bringing dry needling to fruition. I hope to take some of your classes in the future.
I’m trying to find a needler in the St Louis area. Any recommendations pls message me. Thank you!!
I am Massage Program Coordinator at Idaho State University. To my knowledge dry needling would be out of our scope of practice. What knowledge do you have of MT's using this in licensed states?
As you know NJ is still struggling to get dry needling in our practice act. There is a bill going into the senate and we need all the help we can get. I created a page called We are looking for patient testimonials. The more the better. THANKS!! I recently published this article. Please find the link for free downloads (first 50 only)
This is an important reminder for physical therapists licensed in Maryland who use dry needling. The Board of Physical Therapy Examiners is requesting you to submit any questions you may have about the new dry Needling regulations. If you have specific questions regarding the dry needling regulations, please email these asap (in the next week!!!) to the Board at [email protected].
Hey! Great results following dry needling for scapular winging.

More about "forbidden points" in acupuncture....

This review examined randomized controlled trials of acupuncture using forbidden points prior to 37 weeks of pregnancy to treat pain conditions, with the primary outcome of preterm contractions. In conclusion: The strength of evidence to date is insufficient.

A small group of acupuncture points were historically indicated for difficult labor. These were: SP 6, LI 4, GB 21, BL 60, BL 67, BL 32, and BL 33.27 Of these points SP 6, BL 60, and BL 67 (with moxa) have been reported as being used prior to labor for labor preparation and during labor for pain relief and augmentation of labor.

State Board DN Regulations May Not Always Protect the Public

What to do when dry needling regulations from state boards of physical therapy may not necessarily "protect the public?" The main objective of State Boards of Physical Therapy is to protect the public and it is fair to assume that members of state boards do believe that the regulations

The Trigger Point & Referred Pain Guide

Several years ago, Victoria Magown from MyoRehab put together a great website with Information, images and diagrams with referred pain patterns from trigger points. Myofascial trigger point reference including referred pain and muscle diagrams as well as symptoms caused by triggerpoints.

It is with sadness that we share with you that Dr. Ronald Melzack, best known for his innovative work on the Gate Control Theory of Pain (with Dr. Patrick Wall) passed away on Sunday December 22, 2019. A funeral service will be held on December 26, 2019.

Dr. Melzack was one of the distinguished lecturers at our Focus on Pain congress in Bethesda, MD several years ago. More recently, he confirmed via an email that "trigger points are a hard fact." Dr. Melzack was a true pioneer in pain science. His Neuromatrix became one of the most important contributions to our understanding of pain.
