https://youtu.be/ndibhMIyQhI The vision was a play on words. It’s a different meaning than the song title. However, I felt the music was kind of cheery to a point to where you could have positive lyrics and still have an equally good song. The beat could be heard and seen for ice skating. So I thought why not have a fun activity? This one has had a lot of game changing plans. Originally, I wanted to try and do just 1985. But it was so hard to find enough pictures in a mainstream search. I thought since that was right after the previous year’s Olympics, the skaters would want to rest and therefore, would not be posing much for pics. So like the last video, https://youtu.be/bgH-NRWkjzs , I added the next year, symboling that songs from the album were still released as singles in 1986 as well. I then found some other sources of 1985 pictures and there were a lot! I thought I could possibly revert it back to strictly 1985, using five seconds a pic. But that would mean removing all the ’86 pics I already installed. So I trimmed the time down to add both years. And overall, I think it’s great. I realized that if I had utilized these other sources previously, my other skating video would have the same intense speed: https://youtu.be/xU1Um-MXLBg . All images were researched 1985 and ‘86. Please note that search engines can be inaccurate and images can be mistagged with the wrong year. Images used were in the order of the search results. I don’t like to discriminate; I prefer this “mixed bag” approach.
I'm an Area Representative for ISE, a non-profit Student Exchange Company. We are looking for Families who would like to open their Home to a Foreign student to share their American culture and traditions with. If you're interested in learning a new language, new cooking skills from a different country or learn about other traditions ? Than Hosting an Foreign Exchange Student would be the right addition to your Family. We've got a great student from Germany that is a passionate Figure Skater arriving in August. I was wondering if there's a chance that any Family with kids that are part of the Austin Figure Skating Club would be interested in Hosting her as she would like to keep practicing during her stay here and make some Friends with the same Hobby. Send me a message or call me under : 5127679258 if you're interested to learn more about the Program and our available Students. I'm looking forward to hear from you soon.

Does anybody own a copy of RISE ice skating documentary or knows where I can find it? Thank you.
Does anyone own a documentary movie "Rise" or knows where we could borrow it for a couple of days? Thank you!
not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but i'm selling my riedell diamond figure skates! i just had a nasty foot injury (off the ice!) and i'm going to need a new set, so i'm selling my old figure skates to help fund that. 💖 it's on ebay but if you're interested please message me 😊
Is anyone interested in this fabric? I picked it up at the free table at our quilt guild meeting. It’s about two yards. Will deliver!
Can I invite friends to the exhibition Sunday? I won't be as nervous as actual Bluebonnet.

Dear AFSC Members,

The Austin Figure Skating Club Board recognizes and understands the challenges facing our members due to the situation with COVID-19, and we are working tirelessly on your behalf as we are committed to helping navigate this shared journey.

Through these unprecedented times, our number one priority remains serving all our members: officials, coaches, skaters, and sponsors. The AFSC Board has decided to lower the annual dues and the volunteer hours for this year. This decision was due in large part to the reduced amount of on-ice opportunities and other group activities that we could offer to our members because of the COVID-19 situation.

We would like our members to consider the following:

◦ The 2020-2021 season membership renewal is now open.
◦ The current year expires ‪June 30, 2020‬. Any member wishing to test in the upcoming Testing Sessions should complete the renewal process before test session date.
◦ Any member with 5 hours of volunteer service in any AFSC activity qualifies for the "volunteer" discount. If you have questions about volunteer hours or feel you have not been given credit for all your hours, please contact [email protected]
◦ Remember that to renew for the 2021-2022 year with the volunteer discount, you will need 15 volunteer hours accrued during the 2020-21 membership year.

We will continue focusing on our mission of providing the instruction, practice, and advancement of the various disciplines of figure skating, to encourage good sportsmanship, cultivate a spirit of fraternal feeling among its members, and to carry out the general policies of U.S. Figure Skating – now and in the future.

Thank you again for your commitment and partnership. Our club is strong because of you. Together, we will tackle this challenge (and whatever the future may bring) and ensure not only that each AFSC member will get through this but will thrive.

We look forward to our continued partnership. If there are additional ways we can help during this time, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
Austin Figure Skating Club Board
