UT Austin Student Government is strongly against anti-semitism and wants to share this guide created by What the F Magazine on how to identify anti-semitism in our modern society and how to prevent it. We stand firmly against ANY and ALL anti-semitism. As we have heard more reports anti-Semitic incidents to recently happen to UT students, we want students to have a guide on how to identify the modern manifestation of anti-semitism. Thank you to Cole Deutch for his help and What the F Magazine for this guide!

In light of the university-wide tuition increase of 2.6% alongside additional increases for specific colleges at UT Austin and the current landscape of financial instability, the administration must take tangible steps to increase transparency around tuition and ensure that our education is as equitable and affordable for all students. We are calling on UT Austin to follow other sister UT institutions and other comparable universities across the state and take action in increasing tuition transparency and affordability. Please show us support by signing this joint statement with the Senate of College Councils with this link:

UT anuncia cambios para ayudar a estudiantes extranjeros a cumplir nuevo requisito de ICE

Gracias Telemundo Austin por entrevistar a nuestra Directora de Comunicaciones, Oriana Garcia. UTSG seguirá apoyando y trabajando en solidaridad con nuestra comunidad estudiantil internacional para garantizar un espacio seguro y equitativo ante cualquier regulación que perjudique el desarrollo académico y personal de nuestros compañeros.

Thank you to Telemundo Austin for interviewing our Communications Director, Oriana Garcia. UTSG stands firmly with the decision to rescind the ruling on international students. We must continue to support, amplify, and work in solidarity with our international community to ensure a safe and equitable space.

In light of the recent ICE press release, Planet Longhorn created a petition to help International students stay at UT. Student organizers have also been creating various resources to advocate for and support International student’s ability to stay in Texas. Alongside our student community, Student Government firmly stands against these arbitrary regulations that will be detrimental to the health, well-being, safety and academic success of international students. We have crafted a statement of solidarity in support of International students and drafted a list of demands for students and administration to work towards. Link in our bio to read the full statement.

TW: Sexual Misconduct Policy
UT accepted new Husch Blackwell recommendations. These revisions are necessary steps forward in providing a more equitable and safe space for all Longhorns. Thank you to CASM, the Sexual Misconduct Working group, and other organizations and individuals who fought the hard fight to enact great change on campus. We must continue to do this work on campus and ensure that offenders of sexual misconduct are held accountable and victims are believed and supported. We encourage students to voice any shortcomings or concerns of these new policies and will work to ensure that Title IX and sexual misconduct policies best serve students on the Forty Acres.
