In light of the recent ICE press release, Planet Longhorn created a petition to help International students stay at UT. Student organizers have also been creating various resources to advocate for and support International student’s ability to stay in Texas. Alongside our student community, Student Government firmly stands against these arbitrary regulations that will be detrimental to the health, well-being, safety and academic success of international students. We have crafted a statement of solidarity in support of International students and drafted a list of demands for students and administration to work towards. TW: Sexual Misconduct Policy
•••
UT accepted new Husch Blackwell recommendations. These revisions are necessary steps forward in providing a more equitable and safe space for all Longhorns. Thank you to CASM, the Sexual Misconduct Working group, and other organizations and individuals who fought the hard fight to enact great change on campus. We must continue to do this work on campus and ensure that offenders of sexual misconduct are held accountable and victims are believed and supported. We encourage students to voice any shortcomings or concerns of these new policies and will work to ensure that Title IX and sexual misconduct policies best serve students on the Forty Acres.

UT Austin students: The University of Texas at Austin is making significant changes to combat the spread of COVID-19. Online classes, residence hall closures, and emerging barriers to accessing student resources are changing the way we learn. Additionally, the uncertainty of the Fall semester creates the potential for greater need of student resources and aid on a university level.
To ensure the actions we take in pursuit of health, safety and success of all Longhorns are effective and equitable, we want to hear from you. Please share as much as you feel comfortable, as this will be used as experiential proof and a pulse of the student body.

UTSG has created a general resource guide as UT students transition to a remote learning environment and we continue to practice safe social distancing. Many students are struggling to adapt to the sudden changes in their lives; we are here for you & are seeing what can be done🧡 @ Home Sweet Home

As always, we are committed to the welfare of the UT student body. Here are the latest coronavirus updates:
Starting on March 30, UT will be moving all spring semester classes online. They are asking students not to return to campus this semester unless there is a specific need. Students are required to move home from their residence halls. Emergency housing will be available on a case-by-case basis to students who have compelling reasons to remain on campus, or who do not have other living arrangements. As we get closer to May commencement, UT will assess the public health situation to determine whether any public ceremonies are appropriate.
More details can be found at the link in our bio.

We are committed for the welfare of the student body and will continue to provide information and resources as they become available. Have a safe and healthy spring break, Horns.
