Ash Wednesday Service

Last Sunday we noticed how much strength and encouragement the Apostle Paul enjoyed from his friendship with the Christians in Rome. One big reason for this strength and encouragement was that these friends knew their spiritual gifts and were using them. They understood how God had shaped them for His purposes and glory.
I encouraged us to do the same. To take steps to understand how God has shaped us and get plugged in according to that shape here at CCC. Here's a link to a website that can help you do this. We've used this SHAPE inventory at Christ Community Church and have found it helpful.
I hope you do too,
Tonight the Youfh Group tackled the Wrist Flip Challenge. Think you can do it? Be sure to show the kids next Sunday at church!
Am I allowed to give you a sneak peak? But more importantly read these encouraging words from Chelsea Henderson Bieber!
Church design progress!
I’ve mentioned this before and it’s a good time to say it again; you don’t need to be a fearless person to do big/challenging/new things. I was afraid of a lot when handed the responsibility of designing our church. A whole lot! I don’t know commercial spaces and the magnificent list of details that go into designing them. The feeling reminded me of the first few design jobs I did in my career. You guys, I didn’t even know how to make a simple mood board when I said yes to the first job. And while these unknowns, big and small, DO make me afraid, I’ve always had this instinct of jumping right in trusting that God was going to clear my way. This doesn’t mean my experience has been free of challenge and hurdles, but when push comes to shove, at the end of the day the things I was afraid of somehow become non-issues. Ultimately, your fear is not a problem for the Lord. You don’t have to lose your fear to do what He’s made you to do. He can work with your baggage and self-doubt. There’s so much out there about becoming a fearless person and I think that’s bologna. Fear is not a deficiency. God has done incredible things with mine and for that reason I keep pressing forward into scary things.
This space has come a LONG way. Now we press on to the finish 💪🏻
It has been our gift and privilege to be able to worship our Father in this church home together with you for the past 10 years. With deep gratitude for this space and for you, and with a desire to welcome many more as we "lift our eyes", we will be spending some time over the next month or so working on improving our facilities. We have a design plan for both the lobby as well as the sanctuary that we believe will more effectively welcome and serve this wonderful community. God answered Christ Community Church’s prayerful quest for a more permanent church home with this very special location, and our desire in return is to be responsible stewards of this space and give it our best effort. Simply put, we hope for this to be an inviting and comfortable place for all who enter and we look forward to continuing to enjoy life together with you and those God will add here for years to come! In the mean time, please excuse the disarray during this time of installation.
We will be painting this Saturday January 18th. Please let us know if you'd like to help.
