One of the many things that make Open Arms special is our weekly chapels. Children sing, dance, listen to a special Bible story, and end with the Doxology and Lord’s Prayer. Check out this video of Pastor Justin leading the Lord’s Prayer to get a glimpse of our chapel activities! For more photos and videos, see our Instagram page: www.instagram.com/openarmsccdc
How do you get out the wiggles at the end of Friday after a long week? You dance along to “Baby Shark” in the Tech Lab like our Cheetahs!

Open Arms students are invited to come to the 11:00am service at Our Savior's Way Lutheran Church on Sunday, May 15th. They will be singing, "If I Were a Butterfly," and our music teacher, Ms. Bev, created this video so the children can practice at home. Practice the song with the motions at home with your kids (and they will practice during music class and chapel at school!), and we hope to see you at church on the 15th of May!
"Habari" means "Hello" in Swahili, the language of Kenya. Open Arms children have been learning about Kenya and the Clausings missionary family throughout this week, and we will be sending our noisy offering to them along with this video of our classes wishing them "Habari!"
Campers were given finger rocket models of Orbital Science's Antares rocket. After decorating their rocket, everyone went out to have some fun on the blacktop!
Space Camp: Part 2 Magic Rock Eruption Take a moment to watch as campers in the School Age program got a chance to see their Magic Rocks erupt by adding vinegar to baking soda. Want to adapt this activity... make mini magic rocks and place them on a baking sheet to dry over night. Fill a bowl with vinegar and drop your rocks in for a terrific explosion! See the link below for the recipe. Magic Treasure Rocks at: http://www.growingajeweledrose.com/2013/01/magic-treasure-rocks.html — at Open Arms Christian Child Development Center.
