What a difference a year makes. Almost 50% fewer active listing compared to July ‘19 but almost 10% more sales. If you are thinking of selling you won’t find a better time. Call me to discuss this opportunity.
This current market needs a creative, considerate and caring approach in your Realtor. Thinking of buying or selling your home give me a call and let’s talk (571) 246-2372.
Always positive ......
Instant Reaction: NAR Chief Economist, Lawrence Yun, on GDP, July 30, 2020. As expected, economic activity collapsed in the second quarter due to the total virus-lockdown in April and only partial re-openings in May. The good news is that this data is backward-looking.
Unleashing The Economy ... this was the headline of an article by the highly respected NAR Chief Economist, Dr. Lawrence Yun. In it he reiterated a long held view that the current pent up demand for homes should be a 'boon' for markets. His key points were strong growth in the savings rate due to no shopping at the malls, no eating out, no vacation travel. Home prices nationally have risen above a 5% annualized rate. However, new listings and new-home construction are urgently needed as buyers seek to lock in historically low mortgage interest rates. Currently (at the time he penned the article) home sales are forecast to be down 'only' 11% in 2020 whilst price growth should rise by 4%. A similar forecast was made for 2021. He finishes by saying the demand will be there; the real question is whether the houses will be!!
This is certainly reflected in our local market .... anyone seeing anything significantly different??

There are now plenty of indicators to suggest there is going to be a gradual relaxation of the Stay Home rules after nearly two months of lock down. Realtors have developed new and novel ways of continuing to do business in the virtual world. As the option to return to work nears what are you doing now that you will continue and how do you see the real estate world in the short term.
Join us for an informal discussion as we look at these new conditions we find ourselves in. Click on the link below and share your thoughts.

Governor Northam has changed the legislation to delay our opportunity for another year and require the General Assembly to pass on the same legislation again in 2021. We cannot wait another year to provide REALTORS® with more options for affordable health insurance!
We need you now, more than ever, to ask your legislators reject the Governor’s amendments and pass House Bill 795 and Senate Bill 235.

Seems as if there is no 'one size fits all' solution out there.

DAAR has been in touch with the Clerk of the Circuit Court here in Loudoun County to find out what plans are in place for recording activity the current Coronavirus situation. Below is the initial response.
If the chief judge closes the courts and my office, then we will not be doing any clerk’s office business. At this point, we are open and accepting recordings and we encourage all title companies to E-record and not come in person to deliver recordings. We can give you updates as we continue to respond to this situation.
If there are any other questions at this point do let me know and I will act as a focus.
For every person not counted, Loudoun County loses $20,000 over 10 years ...... that's a lot of money so you can imagine what the total cost could be.
Your 2020 Census response helps fund our schools, healthcare, roads and more.
Make sure EVERYONE COUNTS in your home to help more Loudoun families.
As mandated by the Constitution, the U.S. Census counts every resident in America every 10 years. The #2020Census will be unlike any other in our nation’s history. Simple on its face, the census requires years of careful planning. We're implementing new technology to make it easier than ever for the population to exercise its civic obligation to be counted in 2020. Join our webinar on May 24 at 2 pm ET for an overview of the current 2020 Census plans and where we're headed the next three years: http://go.usa.gov/cQUh3

A very informative road-trip to Richmond. Fascinating to watch the political process in action and, to some degree, have an opportunity to influence the direction of matters that directly impact the Real Estate profession and home owning community in VA.
Taking a break during a full day of advocacy to snap some photos in front of the Virginia Capitol. Thanks to the strong contingent of #VirginiaREALTORS from NVAR - Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® and Virginia Peninsula Association of Realtors who came to Richmond to lobby the General Assembly.
Taking a class at VAR so I can better serve you. Our amazing instructor, Paula Monthofer, asked us what distinguishes us.
Can you help?
What do you think distinguishes me as a professional? 😊
No rest for the wicked. My new year starts at Richmond today. Looking forward to an interesting 3 days of training and discussions.
virginiarealtors.org This new event includes meetings and education for Leadership Team, State Board of Directors, Committee Chairs & Vice Chairs, Association Executives, Local Presidents & President-Elects, and RPAC FBI. The Virginia REALTORS® Annual RPAC Awards are also held in conjunction with this event.
I came into the Real Estate profession in June 2012 from an extensive military (UK) and business background. As well as enjoying the cut and thrust of being a Realtor I also got to enjoy being involved in our local association (Dulles Area Association of Realtors) and have served on the Board of Directors, and am currently the 2020 President. This has been a very challenging but rewarding role as we had to recruit a new CEO for the association following the surprise resignation of our last one (new one now starts June 30). This came on top of the COVID-19 Pandemic so focus has been understandably in many directions. Coming into the real estate profession slightly later in life I needed to maximize the time I have to achieve as much as I can so I have also been an assistant manager at our Loudoun office and managing broker at our Great Falls office in VA. Both offices have some outstanding agents. In the second half of 2020 I will be starting to provide greater focus on real estate as we start to see greater freedom to work in the COVID-19 arena and DAAR sees the arrival of a new leader. If you have real estate need do not hesitate to call. I have lived in NoVa with my wife since 2004 and have an excellent knowledge of what the region has to offer.
