Want to join me in supporting a good cause? This #GivingTuesday I'm raising money for Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. And on Giving Tuesday Nov 27, starting at 8AM, Facebook and PayPal will match a total of $7 Million in donations so your donation can go twice as far today. The matching funds may run out early so the earlier you donate the more likely your donation will be matched.

I've chosen Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope you'll consider contributing. Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy works to educate the community, protect rapidly disappearing natural areas and restore habitat for native species in Loudoun County through classes, field trips, workshops, restoration projects and conservation advocacy. You can learn more about Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy at Even a small donations of $5-$10 will add up today.

Thank you for your support. Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy offers a variety of nature programs ranging from indoor classes and workshops to field trips like birding and hiking along local trails to county-wide counts.

[11/23/18]   Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! From my family to yours!

Love. Peace. Beauty. This world.

Did you miss the butterfly count? Or did you enjoy the butterfly count so much you want to go looking for more?

Then you are in luck! On Saturday, August 25th, at 9:30am, we'll gather at the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship (BRCES). For roughly 2 hours, we'll look for butterflies (and other critters that cross our path). Depending upon interest and weather and level of butterfly activity, we might take the show on road and look for butterflies elsewhere in Loudoun county after we have exhausted our 2 hours.

If you are interested, there is no sign up, just show up at BRCES (11661 Harpers Ferry Rd. Purcellville, VA 20132) - drive down the gravel road, veer left and slightly down the hill and park at the bottom. Wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen; bring water and butterfly guides if you have them.
