[11/21/12]   Nine Long Island, New York Code Jurisdictions Adopt HERS Index Score Option to Building Energy Codes

The momentum of local code jurisdictions recognizing the HERS Index as a compliance option to their energy codes has increased with nine municipalities located in Long Island, New York recognizing a HERS Index Score as a code compliance option.
The following communities have incorporated the HERS Index into their building energy codes:
• Town of Brookhaven
• Town of Babylon
• Town of Hempstead
• Town of Huntington
• Town of Islip
• Town of North Hempstead
• Town of Oyster Bay
• Town of Riverhead
• Town of Southampton

These Long Island communities have joined jurisdictions from Idaho to Massachusetts in incorporating home energy ratings as a compliance option to energy codes.

MABTEC is an approved NATE Testing Facility able to proctor NATE Certification Exams. We are also an accredited NATE Training Provider. We offer these educational and training classes at our facility. MABTEC can also offer these classes at your location for groups. If you have specialized needs for education or training for building science, we can possibly customize a class for your needs. 2009 and 2012 IECC Duct Testing and whole house infiltration testing (blower door) training available. We offer these classes at our facility with options to hold the classes at your location. A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the class.
