The topic for the meeting is “Magnifying the Truth for Change.” MSAAC will consider its goals for the year. Each year thousands of schools around the world celebrate creativity and being unique during International Dot Day. This year, Legacy is too!
Inspired by the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, students and staff have made dot-themed artworks for a giant school display! The book supports the notion that every student is an artist. Ask your children about Vashti! Although the 'official' Dot Day is Sept. 15th (a Saturday), this year we will be celebrating the following week of Sept. 17th-21st and are asking students to wear dots on Monday, Sept. 17th.
Thank you for your support in this activity!

Hello Legacy Families,
Thank you for helping us get our school year off to a great start!
Below are a few reminders:
Always check in the office when you first arrive - all adults must show their ID every time they come into the school.
It’s time to let the students walk themselves to their classrooms – we’ve established routines and want to promote independence.
If you need to talk to the teacher, please schedule a conference, don’t just pop in if you’re in the building.
If you’re coming for lunch, please meet your child in the cafeteria – don’t interrupt instruction by going directly to the class.
If you’re dropping lunch for your child, tell them ahead of time to look for it on the Lunch Cart so we don’t interrupt instruction.
Again, thank you for helping us set these important daily routines.
Have a wonderful day!
Just want to share; this message is so important.

To reduce the burden on parents and on the environment, Loudoun County Public Schools is encouraging parents and guardians to fill out information online usually contained in paper first-day packets. Updating information online will save parents time, reduce paper consumption, and free up school staff to do more important things, like welcome students back to school and answer parents' questions.
Please take a moment to check this link, http://www.lcps.org/2018VirtualFirstDayFolder and see how you can make the return to school easier for you and your student.

Dear Legacy Parents:
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!
This year you will be able to see your child's teacher assignments and bus stop information via ParentVue on Monday, August 20, 2018.
What is ParentVue? It is the parent portal that Loudoun County Public Schools uses to keep you informed about your child. Many of you will already be familiar with ParentVue, thru checking grades, online registration, etc. Be sure you are using the ParentVue portal and not the online Pre-Registration.
Please be sure that you have activated your ParentVue account. Once activiated, you can use one log in for all the children in your family. If you have not activated your ParentVue account, please email us at LEG-FrontOffice@lcps.org with the following information:
Your Full Name
Your Child's Name
Please email us from the email account you wish to use as primary.
If you have login problems, please let us know.
If you have already activated the ParentVue account, but forgot your User Name, please contact us via email. If you have your User Name, but have forgotten your password, then you can click on "Forgot Password" on the ParentVue Log in screen.
Hope you are enjoying your summer!
The Legacy Front Office Staff
From snacks to school supplies, make sure Box Tops products are on your back-to-school shopping list! See a list of participating products!!!!
Over the next several weeks, please log in to your ParentVUE account to update any contact information that may have changed. There are two places where you can edit information once in your account. You can edit phone numbers and email addresses that pertain to you under My Account. You can also edit information such as emergency contacts, doctor name and phone number, etc. under Student Information. Please note: We always call the parents first in the event of a sick or injured child. Emergency contacts should be someone other than the parents who we can call on if we are unable to reach you. It should be someone who can pick your child up at school, if the situation arises. Address changes, however, need to be made directly through the Legacy front office as the system is not set up to accept those changes online.
We will generate your child's Student Profile based on this information, so changes made now will ensure that we have the most accurate data for you and your child.
**On a side note, last year we had many encounters with voice mailboxes that were full and we were unable to reach you about your child. We understand that many people use only their cell phones these days, so please make an effort to clean out your mailbox and/or give us an alternate work number so we can quickly reach you.
Thank you for taking the time to clean up your ParentVUE account. You can click here to log on to ParentVUE: https://portal.lcps.org.
