CELEBRATING THE FEAST OF THE ANNUNCIATION

The Angel Gabriel's message to Mary "Be not afraid" for nothing is impossible for God!

During these hard times, let's remember that today is a day of hope. Annunciation Day marks the incarnation of Jesus Christ. We are thankful for today and the rest of the days that will come.
O Blessed Mother, you received the good news of the incarnation of Christ, your Son, with faith and trust. Grant your protection to all pregnant mothers facing difficulties.
Guide us as we strive to make our parish communities places of welcome and assistance for mothers in need. Help us become instruments of God’s love and compassion.
Mary, Mother of the Church, graciously help us build a culture of life and a civilization of love, together with all people of good will, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life. Amen.

On January 29th, about 200 people joined together at the Leesburg VA Courthouse to pray the Rosary for an End to Abortion.

On this day, all pro-life Americans across the country were united in spirit to the 48th Annual National March for Life in DC, to advocate for the Sanctity of Life. Together Strong...Life Unites!

“CHERISH LIFE” Learn the Facts

Today is "National Sanctity of Human Life Day"

In one of its final acts before the swearing in of a new president, the Trump White House issued a proclamation Monday declaring Friday as National Sanctity of Human Life Day.

On Jan. 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the U.S. Constitution protects a pregnant woman’s right to choose abortion to end a pregnancy. Since the ruling, more than 61 million abortions have been performed in the U.S., according to a new analysis by National Right to Life.

In a statement from President Trump, he calls on Congress for help “in protecting and defending the dignity of every human life, including those not yet born,” including support for women in unexpected pregnancies and support for adoption and foster care, “so every child can have a loving home.”

He closed the proclamation by calling on Americans to “listen to the sound of silence caused by a generation lost to us, and then to raise their voices for all affected by abortion, both seen and unseen.”

The declaration of a National Sanctity of Human Life Day has been a tradition of Republican presidents, though the date has varied from Jan. 22 to the Sunday closest to the Roe v. Wade anniversary.

Today, January 6, we celebrate the EPIPHANY OF THE LORD.

This year, may the story of the Epiphany inspire us to share the light of Christ as we continue to offer loving support and encouragement to mothers in need. Heavenly Father, “Author of Life”, help us to show all mothers that they are welcomed, seen, heard, valued, loved, and supported. Amen+

Epiphany means manifestation. What the Church celebrates today is the manifestation of our Lord to the whole world; after being made known to the shepherds of Bethlehem He is revealed to the Magi who have come from the East to adore Him. O come Let Us Adore Him!

When the Gabriel Project and pregnancy help organizations work together, it is such a great blessing!

The Gabriel Project at St Theresa Catholic Church in Ashburn has been working with our two local Pregnancy Resource Centers, Mosaic and Birthright, to provide ongoing support to our Gabriel Project Moms.

Each year, St Theresa has a couple of Fundraisers to help support the needs of these PRCs. At the same time, whenever we have a Gabriel Project Mom who needs maternity clothes, baby clothing, and diapers /wipes, they are encouraged to get established at one of these two centers for ongoing support. Each center offers some different things to the Moms. Mosaic offers Sonograms, Counseling, Parenting classes, and some immediate Material Goods for baby. Birthright offers Pregnancy Tests, ongoing Material Goods, Emotional Support and they give referrals for other local services.

We are so thankful for the working relationship we have with each of these Pregnancy Resource Centers and hope that you will join us in helping to support them through our "Gabriel Project Virtual PRC Baby Shower". Please see the attached Flyer to see how you can help! Contact me if you have any question.

God Bless,
Marianne Mazzatenta

As a Memorial for the Unborn, St Theresa Church in Ashburn VA displays 300 wooden crosses. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you” (Jeremiah 1:5)

Today is the Eighth Annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children. This beautiful artwork by Michael Corsini may help brings us peace, as we remember that the Lord God is the Author of Life and we now entrust these precious souls into His care.

The first Day of Remembrance was observed in September 2013, with more than a hundred memorial services held all over the country. Today 193 memorial services were scheduled for this year's Day of Remembrance, Saturday, September 12, to commemorate the more than 60 million innocent unborn children who have lost their lives to legal abortion since 1973, and to remind our society of the humanity of the unborn child.
