King's Cross Church

Sundays at 10:15am

Mission: Our mission is to build a community that gathers around the person and teachings of Jesus, grows in the gospel of Jesus, and glorifies the name of Jesus as we make disciples, share life together, worship, and show mercy to the broken in eastern Loudoun County.

The gospel is the power of God for salvation, but as Christians we need to apply it to ourselves every day. (Sometimes every hour!)
This week @meagmay shared with many of the women at #pcaga some great ways we can examine our own hearts, and then also how we can remember the amazing grace of God more often, especially when we need it most.
Also, we think Claire got a pen from every vendor here 😂

Called & Sent: A theology of place and people.

When God sent his Son, he demonstrated our need as well as our value by his love. We gather as a community of people with needs but who also can support each other. We were made for community; both with God and man. Now as those who he has loved and continues to love, God calls us to share his great love, right where we are.

United in Christ, let’s love where we live. Although we live in one of the wealthiest counties in the country, so many are in need; longing for significance, stability, security and love. Some of our neighbors have material needs, but we all have deep spiritual longings.

As those called by God and made in his image, we want to wrestle with the particulars of our calling: gifts, personalities, context, roles and daily life. What are you called to today as one loved by God?
What do you see? How can you serve your neighbors? How can we help?

The flags are out! Coffee’s coming and we have a seat waiting just for you. We’ll be at Briar Woods High School today and for the next 7 Sundays.
We hope you will join us!

Friendly location for the summer starts tomorrow. See you at Briar Woods High School!

Pastor Paul wants to share a song with the kids of the King’s Cross as they work on memorizing the 66 great books of the Bible.

The best thing we can give our children is Jesus. We are thankful for the volunteers who prep, pray and plan to not only teach our kids about Jesus each Sunday, but who also endeavor to let our kids experience grace each morning together. Our main focus is to invite our children to know Jesus and His love.

Sometimes mornings are hard and sometimes they are our favorite thing. That’s ok. As a community that experiences life together, we get to see our need for grace, offer it to each other and even receive it. This is messy, but beautiful. It is the most important thing we can give our kids.

This Sunday we begin our summer curriculum during Children’s Church. Please pray for our teachers, children and families as we begin a new routine and talk about grace in a different way. It is going to be fun!

Every day, countless people are sold into slavery, and one in four is a child. There are 40+ million slaves globally.

International Justice Mission is the largest international anti-slavery organization. They are working to eliminate the slave trade everywhere.

This month we will pray for the people helped by this organization, those who support it, and those on the frontlines. You may also bring a donation to church or make one online.

The Stone Bridge HS auditorium is getting a makeover! Join us this summer at a special location. 8 weeks only!!

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our Back Pack Buddies Ministry Team. Throughout the entire school year you have made sure that the students of Trailside Middle School with low food security would have real meals to eat during the weekend and special holidays.

We have had tremendous support of this ministry both through monetary giving and people serving with their time. We truly appreciate you being the hands and feet of Jesus to our neighbors and letting them know that they are seen, loved and valued! We want to be a church that makes a difference in our community, and this is one way we really get to make an impact!

Please let us know if you would like to be a part of this team. There are simple ways that you can serve!

After Jesus rose from the grave, he continued to make disciples. He continued to change lives, one of which belonged to a Pharisee named Saul of Tarsus, who would later be known as the Apostle Paul. The same Paul who learned the secret of being content in any and every situation. The same Paul who endured incredible hardships yet had unspeakable joy. All because of his relationship with the risen and living Jesus.
Join us this Sunday at 10:15 as we start a new miniseries, asking God to show us how our own hearts and lives—and the world—can be changed by his grace.

This past week, we have looked at Jesus and witnessed his sacrificial love. Yesterday we celebrated the goodness and glory of his life, death, and resurrection. Today, we are called to live as followers of Christ, walking in the power of his resurrection and the beauty of his love.

As you look to Jesus and see the depth of his love, you will want to draw near to him. By God’s Spirit, you will begin to look more like Jesus. By grace, your life will mirror his.

We pray that today, you will be able to extend to others the love that Christ extended to you.

The last Ladies’ Bible studies for this semester meet tomorrow night at 7pm (at the Ryan Park Panera) and Thursday morning at 9:30am (at Ridgetop Coffee & Tea). We are finishing up our study in 2 Peter and you are welcome to join in!

This summer we will meet once a month to talk about Contentment by Lydia Brownback. In the Fall we will look at the Psalms using Kathleen Nielson’s study or join us one Saturday a month to go through Courtney Doctor’s Garden to Glory (time TBD so if you are interested in attending please let give us your input).

Happy Easter!

When we look into the tomb, it is empty. Now our hearts fill with hope. Our faces are no longer sad or concerned or afraid. The news of the risen Savior pierced the brokenness of our lives and the world and gives us a reason to have joy. Jesus has been raised from death to life and he promises the same for those who believe in Him. We invite you to join us in celebrating this good news today!

We meet at Stone Bridge High School at 10:15 but this morning we have a brunch at 9:15am.

What Does “Human Flourishing” Mean for Christians?

As we follow up on our sermon from Sunday, what does it look like to follow Jesus? Join in on this conversation and let’s continue to ask how flourishing is different from success and how it can transform our community and not just our own lives.

Andy Crouch, executive editor of Christianity Today, explains what “human flourishing” means for Christians.
