Bridge Community Church of Loudoun

Christ. Community. Life.
"I have given you an example, go and do likewise." - Jesus Christ
- John 13:15

Whether you're just visiting, looking for a new church to call home, or even just interested in seeing what we are all about, we would love to have you join us.

KIDS:
We have a lively and engaging kids program setup where your kids will both learn and play, all in the context of biblical teaching. Groups are divided based on age, and the lessons are tuned specifically to reach children where they are.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
We have a team of friendly greeters that will meet you at the door and answer any questions you might have. They can also quickly point you to the kids check-in, the bathroom, or the fresh coffee that we have brewing.

Our worship music is contemporary, though we do try to mix it up when we can, and try to keep things as dynamic and upbeat as possible. We have our kids worship along with us, though the nursery is manned for our youngest of guests, and dismiss them to children's church shortly thereafter.

SIN

"If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is SIN for them." (James 4:17) Our culture seems to be confused these days about what SIN actually is. Try telling someone from your school, neighborhood or office that certain practices and behaviors are sin and see how they respond. You may be called judgmental or closed minded, but what can people agree on regarding sin? If we are not clear about sin and try to justify all human actions, then there is no need for the cross. Join us this Sunday at 5pm at Bridge as we explore what the Bible has to say concerning sin, and how we might consider this subject in light of our present culture. Hope to see you then!

Happy Monday!
Please enjoy this week's readings :-)

Pastor Will Cravens kicks of the Black & White series with commentary on creation.

You are made in His image, meaning YOU are a beautiful creator too!

DO YOU NEED PRAYER?

CREATION

Concerning God and creation, David once wrote, "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, for what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?" (Psalm 8:3-4)

Have you ever considered the fact that you have been made by a God who thinks of you and cares about you? How does that concept impact your life? Join us this Sunday at 5pm, as we consider God, our Creator, and how that can make a difference in our lives today. Hope to see you then!

Lifter UK

Another example of what Will was talking about on Sunday... we never know when a small prompt of a place, then a person, then words, then a friendship can change lives and fill each of us with beauty bigger than we could imagine! #SpiritLed

A story of true friendship ☺️

Shake it Off

Pastor Will Cravens continues our journey through the book of Acts. In this 3rd week, we see Paul go through trial after trial. How do you handle trials? Do you shake them off?

SHAKE IT OFF

Long before Taylor Swift wrote her 2014 hit single "Shake it Off," the Apostle Paul already understood the concept. After being imprisoned and then shipwrecked on the Island of Malta, he was still a captive in route to Rome, awaiting trial with Caesar himself. When asked to build a fire, a deadly viper slithered from the woodpile and fastened its fangs onto Paul's hand. Natives watched and waited for him to drop dead. Paul merely shook it off. The snake fell into the fire and Paul kept loving and serving those around him. When he showed no reaction or ill effects from the poison, the natives thought he was a god. Paul was quick to point the locals to the One true God and reason for his miraculous reaction. Join us this Sunday at 5pm as we consider the God who allows us to SHAKE OFF the things which come against us or inhibit us from living the lives we have been created to live. Hope to see you then!

Calling all Creatives! And anyone desiring to be creative :)
All ages welcome 😊

Each month, we will choose a verse which will be the base of our artistic inspiration. This verse will be posted on our Bridge Community Church
page, Bridge the Gap Group and our Newsletter.

* Read the chosen verse
* Close your eyes
* Get Quiet
* Meditate on His word
* Let His Spirit speak to your heart;
* And then, respond creatively by sketching, drawing, coloring or painting a picture or illustration on paper, size 8 1/2 x 11 or smaller, of what the chosen verse means to you.

>Maybe after meditating, you're thankful, draw that!

>Or maybe your heart is yearning to go deeper, paint that!

>Or maybe God showed you something very specific that you'd like to share, sketch that!

The verse for the month of March will be, Isaiah 43:10:

“You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.

All finished art pieces will be collected the last Sunday of the month, 3/31/19, and will be on display in our church foyer for all to enjoy.

There are no limits when we are inspired by the one who created us.

So jump out of the box as we get creative with our Creator!

Happy Monday! Please enjoy this week's chapters :)

Common Ground

Pastor Will Cravens continues the series on Acts and talks about finding common ground from Paul’s example in Acts 17.

COMMON GROUND

Have you ever met someone who you felt you had nothing in common with? Where do you begin or is it best to just walk away? Paul found himself amongst foreigners who had many strange beliefs. He walked through their garden full of idols set up as false gods for worship. He stumbled upon one altar with an inscription to an "Unknown God" (Acts 17:23). Rather than walk away and judge the Greek citizens for their misguided beliefs, Paul managed to establish Common Ground. He said, "The God you are confused about is the one I am going to proclaim to you." Then he used this as an opportunity. Instead of burning bridges with people he had very little in common with, he built a bridge and shared the love of Christ with those who had never heard about it. How do you and I build common ground with those we do not share much in common with? Join us this Sunday at 5pm as we carry on in our reading of the Book of Acts.

ACTS OF GOD

Most people refer to the Book of Acts as the "Acts of the Apostles", while a more accurate description is, "The Acts of God through the Apostles." The Book of Acts is packed with amazing stories of the first believers attempting to follow God during a time in history when following Jesus could cost you your life. The promised Holy Spirit was unleashed on the pioneers of the faith to empower ordinary men and women to do extraordinary things. Join us at Bridge on Sundays at 5pm as we plow through the book over the next 3 weeks. You will be inspired!

Happy Monday! Please enjoy this week's chapters from our NEW Series: ACTS of GOD :)

FIGHT FOR IT!

Numerous television episodes of "Seinfeld" are centered around relationships - many had to do with relational breakups. One such episode, Jerry found a woman who was beautiful...that is until he saw her hands, which he described as "man hands." He stayed in the relationship until it seemed unbearable, and then he dumped her. Commitment and relationships never lasted long in that show when it came to dating, and yet the 4 primary friends were inseparable. What relationships would you fight for? How deep is your commitment? Join us this Sunday at 5pm as we consider what the Bible has to say about commitment. Hope to see you at Bridge!

Happy Monday! Please enjoy this week's chapters on "Commitment".

What's Love Got To Do With It? | Get Your Date On

Pastor Will Cravens talks about love and lust and their place with God.

LET'S TALK ABOUT LOVE
What does a healthy love relationship look like? How would you describe two people who are in love? We have so many mixed ideas of what LOVE should look like based on the movies and television, music, our families of origin and any dating we may have done or not done. How do you think God would answer these questions? Join us this Sunday at 5pm as we consider what the Bible has to say concerning dating, romance and more!

Happy Valentines Day!

COMMUNICATE LOVE
"Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone." (Colossians 4:6) Does this verse describe your average conversation with those you love? Would those who know you best say that you are "full of grace"? How do you speak to others when you are tired or in a bad mood? Our words carry great power to impact others and are a valuable tool God has given us to communicate love. We hope you can join us at Bridge, this Sunday at 5pm, as we consider the power of our words to lift up those we come in contact with on a daily basis!

What's Love Got To Do With It? Week 2
