[06/30/18]   The rash of killings we are experiencing in our country are senseless. Rabbi Friedemann who wrote about family systems wrote that the violence and lack of civility is a sign of the anxiety that pervades our culture and our relationships. Reactivity is the natural result of free floating anxiety, senseless behavior becomes normative. Jesus said that we need to love our neighbor and not react to those who insult us or persecute us. Not easy! Only a love which can assure us of our well being and worth individually and corporately can provide the strength to be non-anxious in the face of those who attack us or who are against us. When we can stand in the love of Jesus and be at peace, the world will change around us. We can disagree with our neighbor but still love him/her. - Pastor Peterson

Blessed National Day of Prayer! Spend some time today in prayer for our leaders and our country. As part of the week leading up to NDP, a reading of the entire Bible is held on the grounds of the Capitol. OSW member, Ed Yarbrough whose office is across from the Capitol, was privileged to read the book of Haggai there yesterday. There was unfortunately few people to hear, but it is important that the Word of God was indeed proclaimed!

On Easter morning, join us for a beautiful sunrise service in our prayer garden at 6:30 am, come for traditional worship at 8:00 am and 9:30 am, or celebrate in a more contemporary style at 11:00 am.

Whichever time you choose, we look forward to welcoming you!

[03/21/18]   Due to inclement weather, there will be no Lenten devotions, services, or dinner today. Church offices are closed. Stay safe!

[02/14/18]   Lent begins today, Ash Wednesday. Services with imposition of ashes and Holy Communion will be offered at Noon and 7:30 pm. Family devotions begin at 5:30 pm. All are welcome to dinner between services at 6:00 pm!

Our Wednesday Lent schedule starts on Ash Wednesday, February 14th. Join us for devotions, dinner, and worship every week!
