Crossroads United Methodist Church

Our desire is that everyone - whether they enter our doors or not - would discover the sacredness of their own story, celebrate their spirituality, and fully enjoy an everyday life with God.

God is everywhere, in everything, and with you every day. Crossroads is a community that intentionally celebrates and extends God’s unlimited welcome and unconditional love to people both inside and outside the walls of a church building.

Our desire is that everyone - whether they enter our doors or not - would discover the sacredness of their own story, celebrate their spirituality, and fully enjoy an everyday life with God.

We are equally passionate about and committed to two forms that help us pursue our vision: one is the ministries centered here at Crossroads Drive, and the other we call “Imagine”. Through Imagine we meet in restaurants, bars, coffee shops, homes, yoga studios and in nature with people who have no interest in coming to a church building. We call this a “Both/And” church and through these two forms we are empowered to offer God’s radical grace and love in ways that enable people both inside and outside the walls to change the world one person, one family, and one community at a time.

[06/10/17]   John 8:12 Jesus spoke to the people again, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me won’t walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”

Sacred Pause: Following the ways of Jesus brings light to every situation. His ways are love, joy, peace, kindness and goodness. Those are the things that light your path.

[06/09/17]   I Timothy 6:12 Compete in the good fight of faith. Grab hold of eternal life—you were called to it, and you made a good confession of it in the presence of many witnesses.

Sacred Pause: Eternal life is not just life beyond the grave. This moment is an eternal moment. Grab hold of it; trust the unconditional love of God to hold you now.

[06/08/17]   Psalm 34:18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he saves those whose spirits are crushed.

Sacred Pause: When you are down and out you can feel all alone. In such times it is good to take a deep breath and remember that God is just that close to you, always!

[06/07/17]   Psalm 119:125 My life is stuck in the dirt. Now make me live again according to your promise!

Sacred Pause: Sometimes in life we feel stuck. That’s when we need others walking with us as the presence of God’s love with skin on. Who is God’s love with skin on for you?

[06/06/17]   1 Thessalonians 5:21 …but examine everything carefully and hang on to what is good.

Sacred Pause: The journey inward is the most important journey we take. On the inward journey we ask God to examine our hearts and show us the way to be fully alive.

[06/05/17]   Romans 12:2 Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can figure out what God’s will is—what is good and pleasing and mature.

Sacred Pause: Life is most fully lived when we listen to what God calls us to do. This requires silencing the many voices around us to hear God’s small voice inside us.

[06/04/17]   Philippians 1:9-10 This is my prayer: that your love might become even more and more rich with knowledge and all kinds of insight. I pray this so that you will be able to decide what really matters….

Sacred Pause: Bottom line, life is about love. Lots of things matter to us but in the end nothing matters more than God’s love for us and the way we love others. God is love.

[06/03/17]   Matthew 19: 23 - “I tell you the truth, it is very hard for a rich person to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. I say it again—it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!”

Sacred Pause: Simplyifying your life is hardly, if ever, simple to do. Yet being weighed down with lots of stuff can complicate life beyond the complications of simplfying.
