👉🏼Your muscles need rest in order to grow, don’t overdue it by lifting 7 days a week in hopes of faster progress.

Push ups can do great things for your strength, balance, and mobility if done correctly... but when done incorrectly, they can lead to injuries and muscle imbalances that take a while to come back from. If your push ups are struggling, take it back to the beginning with these basics and rebuild that strength with GOOD form!

I know, I know, we’ve all heard/read it a thousand times but do you ever think about true it is? When you’re scrolling through insta and feeling envious of someone else’s clothes, abs, whatever, do you stop scrolling or do you keep looking while letting the feeling build? When you find out someone else’s pay at work and it’s higher then yours, do you get mad at them for making more and wonder what you need to do make that much money or do you remember how thankful you are to be able to afford your current lifestyle?

I’ve found that whenever I start comparing myself to others, that means it’s time to take some time off from whatever I’m doing that’s causing those feelings and check back in on myself. My three ways to stop comparing yourself to others👇🏼

1) Take a break from social media. Twitter, Instagram, youtube, Facebook, all of it! Just get off.
.
2) Make a list of 5 things I’m proud of myself for! Today, it’s my clients progress, my new e-book, my relationship with my handsome @frantzenfit, my current goals for the future, and how productive my workouts have been lately!

3) Set a new goal to accomplish this week!
.
.
Feeling insecure or unhappy while comparing yourself to others is because your focused on someone else’s perceived strengths or accomplishments versus your own. Bring your focus back inward and remember your own strengths! At the end of the day, you’re the only one that can be you!

I was given an early Christmas present this past weekend and I am so excited to put it to good use! I was given the gift of more FREE TIME and I was going to wait until #newyearsresolutions to seriously put it to use but then I woke up this morning and I was like lol wtf you doin girl?? Get to work now!

So what will I do with more free time? GROW! It’s finally time for a legit season of growth.

I haven’t truly focused on my health or physique in quite some time. I go into the gym on autopilot, typically pretty tired but filled with just enough caffeine to get some lifts in and a lil endorphins. So I am hypeeee to put some Christmas cookie calories to good use and build these little muscles of mine and get stronger!

I also have much more time to focus on my beautiful Arlington clients at @e60fitness, my lil bb @busygirltone, and some new secret projects!

I was in competition prep and I was at a fitness workshop put on by insta-famous hashtag fit girls with 100k+ followers who felt that qualified them to run a workshop. I was so nervous and uncomfortable the entire time because I felt like a fraud. I wasn’t nearly skinny enough, fit enough, strong enough or popular enough to call myself a bikini competitor or even a #fitgirl. I sucked in as hard as I could and forced a smile to get through the weekend.

I thought that once I started working out, my insecurities would simply disappear and I’d be confident and strong! #gymmagic you know? Well, it didn’t work that way..

It’s taken years of surrounding myself with positive, strong, smart people and focusing on growing myself to finally stop focusing on being skinny. Don’t get me wrong, I still think about my appearance often but not as much as I think about feeling strong and able to handle the challenges life throws at me, mental & physical. Your life and your health is about sooo much more then how you look, it’s about how you feel on a daily basis.

If you’re still struggling with your “why” for working out and hitting the gym, try to focus on that mental side of how good you feel when you’re eating healthy and sweating daily!

I swear I’m addicted to sabatoging my own selfies. I literally always *accidentally* eat foods that bloat me right before I plan to do an intense, muscle popping ab workout 🙄🙄 anyone else do this? Today it was wayyyy too many brussel sprouts 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

my body is v v happy that I went gluten free💕

I was told that I should eliminate gluten about 5 years ago when I was in college and had a ton of stomach issues but I was like “nah, that’s dumb, I’m just reduce it a bit” and I tried to consciously eat a big less gluten but also kinda forgot all together.
.
.
Fast forward to now, I’ve had 8 sinus infections in the last year and I’m bloated most days. I went to a few doctors and no one could figure out what’s up with my nose so I started doing my own research and found that gluten allergies can cause constant congestion which leads to chronic sinus infections. I cut out gluten entirely one month ago to see if that could be the case and I’m honestly shocked at how good I’ve been feeling. I can breathe normally and I’ve leaned out a bit as a result as well and I’m definitely not mad about that!

There’s no real moral to this story except maybe you don’t need gluten either? Or maybe keep enjoying pizza, idk you do you 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

As many people know, I used to drink wayyyyy too much caffeine. I felt like I needed it since I only sleep 4-5hrs a night and I figured there was absolutely no way to maintain my busy schedule without upwards of 600mg of caffeine per day. And guess what, I WAS WRONG 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

In early September I went on steroids for a bad sinus infection and they made me feel jittery and overly alert and I found that caffeine made it so much worse and I just felt uncomfortable. So, I quit it semi cold turkey during my 10 days on steroids and antibiotics.
.
.
My doctor recommended I drink kombucha while on antibiotics to help restore the good bacteria in my tum while the antibiotics tried to destroy it all. I quickly became OBSESSED with kombucha and had to try all the popular brands on the market. the carbonation and delicious flavors are a perfect afternoon pick-me-up! @healthade is definitely my favorite one I’ve tried so far!
