If you've been "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo" and have books that no longer "spark joy," PLEASE donate them to us! These will be added to our End-of-the-Year Used Book Sale!

Students get to purchase books at amazing prices for summer reading. The proceeds fund scholarships and items not sold are donated to new LCPS teachers for their classroom libraries. We will accept elementary through adult fiction and non-fiction. DVDs and CDs are also welcome.

We can make arrangements to pick up or you can drop them off at the library during regular school hours; we can also provide a donation letter.

Thank you for considering! Please reach out with any questions.

Perspective | Books for tweens and teens that we can’t wait to see on the big screen this year

Come check out these books and see which is better - movie or book. With classics like Call of the Wild and Little Women and recent teen romances like The Sun Is Also a Star and Five Feet Apart headed to theaters, this year’s batch of books-turned-movies has us excited.

The Snowy Day Read-aloud, an animated story

Who remembers this book from childhood? Students? Parents?

Ezra Jack Keats's classic story, with animation by Jay Boucher and narration and sound by Napoleon Maddox.

So when we made progress with our “update the library” plans a few years ago, we wrote an article that was published in School Library Journal about how we did it. Our student volunteer board, we called them TAG for Library Teen Advisory Group, did so much work to give our space the teen-focused makeover we needed. After the article appeared, we were interviewed by Diane Tuccillo, who was updating her book on the subject of teen advisory groups in public and school libraries. We just got the copy of her book and she features our school in several places.

Thanks again to our SCA, our PTSO and the Loudoun Education Foundation. Your grants and support helped us do that important work! Thanks also do everyone who donated items and participated in our fundraisers.

Here are a few “action” shots of the book. 😄

Some Banned Book Week Highlights:

Here are some pictures from Freshmen orientation 2018. We worked with all 18 freshmen English classes to show students the physical and digital resources to be successful over the next four years. We had a lot of fun as we Kahooted and did a Breakout box.

This year we welcome our new librarian, Mrs. Laura Channing to our staff. We are excited she is here at Stone Bridge. She joins Mrs. Donahue and Mrs. Silvernail.

[09/12/18]   We are a little late to update our FB page. Welcome back students, parents and friends! Please follow our much more active accounts on Twitter @sbhslibrary and Instagram Stonebridge Library
