There is no spinal adjustment, manual therapy treatment, or essential oil that can be used to help treat the flu or any infectious disease. As a general rule of thumb, do not trust people claiming to posses miracle cures during times of crisis that sound too good to be true. They are opportunistic charlatans looking to make a quick buck during times of crisis when people are vulnerable and more gullible.
If you have questions about how to manage the flu contact your primary care provider (MD/DO/NP/PA).

“For medical students, performing unauthorized exams can leave a sense of discomfort that fades with time. But for the patients, the scars can run deeper, sometimes rupturing their sense of trust in health care providers.”
“Repeated experience is necessary to master the delicate skills, and to overcome the nerves that accompany initial attempts.
But among students now learning to perform pelvic exams, there is a growing awareness of the need to tend to the patient’s psychological and emotional well-being.”
nytimes.com Medical schools and students are grappling with an unsettling practice: Performing pelvic exams on unconscious, non-consenting patients.

Women don’t have to live with pelvic pain, incontinence, constipation, and prolapse. What is “common” after childbirth is not “normal.” Sometimes kegels help and sometimes they don’t. That’s why referral to a pelvic health PT is important to determine the musculoskeletal dysfunction causing symptoms.
And it’s never too late to address these issues.

"For decades, the medical field has normalized the after effects of childbirth such as pelvic pain and urinary incontinence, but it begs the question, is this normal?
Picture this: You bring a little human into the world after nine months, you are in awe of just how precious they are. You forget your pain and labor and you go home to your newly expanded family.
After a few weeks, you’re in some discomfort or pain but brush it off because you just gave birth, no big deal. You wear large pads and underwear for the next six weeks as your vagina tries to figure out how to recover. At around six weeks postpartum you have your first check-up with your OB-GYN and they give you the “clearance” to resume normal physical activity and intercourse. Most of the time, this six-week check-up is completed without a pelvic exam. With the physician’s blessing, you start returning to normal exercise without knowing if you are doing too much or too little and you attempt to have sex again. You find that sex is painful as you try anything to enjoy intimacy with your partner. What’s worse, and to your embarrassment, you find yourself leaking while jogging or lifting weights. You turn to your girlfriends or OB-GYN and their common response is to use more lube, drink a glass of wine, or do some kegels. Is that what you and your body need though?" Read the full post

How do you define “old” - by a number? A physical or mental benchmark? Loss of independence and need for assistance? The answer is subjective and changes based on decade of life. I have seen nonagenarian patients that can out perform younger generations in balance and gait speed. It’s definitely a moving target 🎯
Millennials, now in their 20s and 30s, say that old starts at 59, according to a 2017 study by U.S. Trust. Gen Xers, now in their 40s — and no doubt with a new appreciation for just how close they are to entering their 50s — say 65 is the onset of old. Boomers and the Greatest Generation pegged 73 as the beginning of old. Clearly, much depends on the perspective of who’s being asking to define “old.”
