Sundays: 9:00AM & 10:45AM

Meet God. Meet Friends. Live Life Better.
Sundays: 9:00AM & 10:45AM

This past Saturday we hosted our annual Team Orange Awards. Team Orange is the team of volunteers who make things happen around Community. At the event we celebrate the hundreds who serve & we also always recognize a few people who really set an example in service. We wanted to tell you about a few of them.

This Deacon award recipient definitely epitomizes the word “servant”. She constantly and consistently makes herself available to do whatever is asked of her. “No” is not a word in her vocabulary. But she also creatively and proactively looks for ways to bless and serve others. She even sometimes cooks breakfast for our school’s security officer, Officer Grant, just to do something nice for him.
She can regularly be found serving in our nursery on Sundays, in Messiahs Market, and in a litany of ways at Virginia Academy. Whether it is staying to help with late arrivals to preschool, spending time at the market to make sure all the food is stocked and ready for shoppers, brainstorming how a food drive will work smoothly, bouncing babies on Sundays, or running to grab a tub of granola for the women's Bible study at Sister Jerrie's request… She serves with a happy and exuberant heart. She’s an example to all of what a servant’s heart can look like. We're thankful for Cynthia Knight and her service. #TEAMORNG

We hope to see you tonight at 7p

This couple first joined Community in 2012 and jumped right in serving selflessly, and going above and beyond to ensure the job was done.
Over the years, this couple has served countless late nights on the trails of Fright Night, many evenings in FE with the student ministries, Saturdays in February for Date Nights, and putting in unimaginable hours for major events such as Christmas and Easter.
Serving during the week and on weekends, this faithful couple is counted on to execute both on-stage and behind the scenes with lighting, video, and music, while also scheduling, training, coordinating, and leading other volunteers to ensure the Sunday morning experience happens.
They often trade in their lunch hours from their full-time jobs, evenings from friends and family, and even full nights of sleep only to walk right out the doors of the church and go to work. They are high capacity assets to the Worship and Creative Arts teams. We are thankful for Brian and Sarah Morgenthaler

We're gathering this Wednesday for worship & prayer. We hope you'll join us. .
There's special programming for nursery through 8th grade too

We had so much fun celebrating our amazing #TEAMORNG last night. We couldn't do what we do without you!

Join us this Sunday when Pastor Josh Whitlow is our guest speaker. Josh is our Lead Pastor's younger brother. Three years ago, after years of serving on staff at Community, he was sent to Richmond VA to start & pastor The Heights Church. We look forward to him being back with us to share an inspiring message. See you Sunday at 9:00 or 10:45a

During the #ThroughHerEyes series we wanted to introduce you to some great women who are a part of Community.

Meet Vanessa:
"My name is Vanessa Maddox. My husband Roger and I and our sons Connor & Jamison live in Leesburg & have been members of Community for almost 7 years. Roger and I are also the leaders of the #GetHired Employment Connect Group – A group, here at Community, that helps people who are unemployed or underemployed find meaningful work. I’m a native Washingtonian and the youngest of 5.
I'd like to share a bit of my story. I was raised going to church. Even though we went every Sunday, I never felt connected. Over time, I also began to hear a message that told me that being a women made me less than. A message that said that, because I was a woman, I couldn’t lead or serve as a man could. That message didn’t sit right with me. Even back in the day, I knew that wasn’t right. I knew that being a woman didn’t make me “second class.” That message made me angry.
As a young woman, hearing that kind of message caused me to rebel and to pull away from the church. If that’s what church was about, I didn’t want to be a part of it.
I told my parents that I would never return to that church. They, of course, were not very happy with me. But, from that point on, I avoided all churches like the plague. I didn't feel it was a place for me.
Seven years ago, though, everything changed.
I enrolled our sons in a cotillion course which took place in the lobby of Community Church. The first time I entered the building, a sense of peace and calm came over me. I didn’t fully understand it, but I felt that I was supposed to be here. Later that year on Easter Sunday, we attended service for the first time. We joined the church a few weeks later. Our kids adore the church and they've grown up here.
Soon after, Roger and I completed the discipleship course and I was baptized. It was a transformative experience for us as a couple, as parents and as Christians.
In 2017, I'm living proof that the Lord can change your heart and your mind. His grace is abundant and he reminds me that although life is challenging and ever changing but His love is constant."

Next Wednesday is First Wednesday!
Plan to join us from 7:00-8:00p
