Kate Crawley, McEnearney Associates

Helping people to buy and sell properties in Northern Virginia - getting you where you need to be!

Kate Crawley is a real estate veteran with experience in residential sales and administration, high-end commercial management and property development, and finance. She arrives at McEnearney after a successful sales stint with another Northern Virginia firm, excited for the opportunity to be back in Old Town and focusing her business in her home of Alexandria. Kate's clients are able to tap her unique business and sales versatility and her established relationships in the community. An Army "brat" whose family settled in New England, she began her career marketing real estate tax investments for a leading banking and brokerage firm in Boston. She then moved into luxury town home construction for a successful builder before signing on with Trammell Crow Company in Washington, where she was assistant property manager for the prestigious Market Square development on Pennsylvania Avenue. Kate's professional work is fused with her love for Alexandria and its residents. She and her husband, John, put down roots in Braddock Heights 25 years ago and have formed lasting bonds with the community. She loves introducing people to a city with strong historic, aesthetic and cultural charm. She likes to say it's a place where houses are homes and neighbors care for one another. Kate has been active with Senior Services of Alexandria, the Alexandria City Public Schools, and her boys' service and athletic pursuits. She enjoys gardening, cooking and walks around the historic grounds of Fort Ward and Old Town

Total new contract activity was up 24.3% for the week of February 23 - 29, 2020 compared (almost!) to the same period of time last year for the six jurisdictions we track. This is the reason for "almost" - we had to account for leap year, so this year's numbers cover seven days, and last year's cover only six days. So view this week's big increases remembering that that extra day skews the numbers upward by 14%.

The biggest gains this week came in Montgomery County with a 41.4% increase, followed by Washington, DC at 34.9%. Loudoun County came in with a 28.7% increase in the number of newly ratified contracts. The other three areas also posted increases, but adjusted for the extra day the increases were not all that significant. Prince William County was up 18.1%, Northern Virginia was up 17.8% and Prince George's County was up 14.7%.
