Milton High School's Advanced Manufacturing welcomed visitors from the Republic of Azerbaijan's State Vocational Education Agency. We enjoyed sharing what we do in our program to prepare students for future careers in manufacturing. Students demonstrated our hexapod robots, 3D design and printing, as well as our Glowforge laser cutter. Hopefully, we can connect with a classroom in this country to exchange ideas!

MSSC partners with ProctorU to offer certification tests from home

Our alert was also featured in Modern Materials Handling! Once tests have been uploaded to the ProctorU system and more proctors are trained, online testing will be available no later than May 15.

NJ’s Registered Apprenticeship programs top 1,000

Congratulations to NJMEP on having their 1,000th registered apprenticeship program! That has been a 64% increase since January of 2018, and in addition, funding and the diversity of apprentices has also expanded.

State grants awarded for job training programs serving local communities

Four areas in Western Pennsylvania are really going above and beyond in helping students receive job training programs. Catalyst Connection, that serves over 3 counties, will receive more than $190,000 to help students in apprenticeship programs! Four area programs will receive state grants to help employees learn critical job skills.

Lockhart Correctional Facility not your average prison

Misty Campbell took our Certified Production Technician at the Lockhart Correctional Facility, one of the first from Austin Community College District over a year ago. She now works at the community college as a reentry specialist helping women land on their feet when they reenter society! Learning and earning: Paid training programs unlock opportunities for workers

Congratulations to Chattanooga State Community College in offering MSSC Credentials! Not only do the students earn a wage during the 6 weeks, but they also get the opportunity to get interviewed, and possibly hired, by 6 local manufacturers! Skills training is great, but without a paycheck it's just a pipe dream for most people, says Bo Drake, the vice president of Economic and Workforce Development at Chattanooga State Community College.
