Private Home-Based Pre-School and Learning Center located in Aldie, VA! Gity's Little Ones is a family owned and operated home-based d pre-school.
It is owned and operated by Gity, who has over 30 years of experience with children and has been in the child care business for over 25 years. She worked as a private kindergarten teacher for over twelve years before resigning to open her own business. Gity's Little Ones provides a nurturing home-like environment while also encouraging and promoting academic growth from an early age. One of the many benefits of a home pre-school environment is that there are smaller groups of children than outside pre-school facilities. There is a larger age range of children than individual rooms that separate children, allowing children to interact with other children of different age groups. This results in children being more sociable and also learn to guide and teach their peers. At Gity's Little Ones, your child will be cared for and taught bythe same person, day after day. This is extremely important because caregiver consistency is important for children, providing a secure environment for them to learn and grow. Children flourish when they are cared for by people they love. Of course, no one will ever take the place of a parent, but we all know that it is impossible to be with our children 25-hours a day, 7 days a week. A nurturing environment is crucial to children and their well being, and while it is true that there is no place like home, Gity's Little Ones is like a home away from home for children while also providing a strong educational foundation
[09/25/17] Review from the parents of Brynn D.
I've been doing this job for over 30 years, and it's letters like these that still fill my heart with pride and love for my job as a teacher. Just got this review from one of my little ones that just left my care for kindergarten ❤
"Our daugther was at Gity’s Little Ones for 2 years since she was about 2.5
years old. It was the first time that she was under the care of someone
other than myself, her dad or grandmother. Needless to say, we needed to
be comfortable and confident about the childcare option we eventually
chose. The peace of mind my husband and I had that our daughter was
safe, first and foremost, was most important. But on top of that, she was
cared for and loved by Ms Gity and our daugther loves her like a grandmother and highly respects her as a teacher. Our daugther just entered Kindergarten this year (which is the only reason why she is no longer with Ms. Gity) knowing how to read, write her alphabets and numbers. She looked forward to whatever activity Ms. Gity had planned at the “learning table” everyday. A big part of the success is the open communication and the ongoing dialogue. Together with Ms. Gity, we shared the progress of our daugther be it academically or behaviorally. As parents, we valued this tremendously because she spends as much time at school as at home, perhaps more so. It was important that we were on the same page on the developmental opportunities for our child especially during these early years when she was a sponge; absorbing everything. Gity’s Little Ones was a nurturing place and we are forever grateful for what it provided our daughter and our family." - From the Parents of Brynn D
[09/25/17] Let's be honest: some of these snacks are unrealistic for busy parents to make for their kids on hectic school mornings, but there are some that can be prepped in advance that we thought are worth sharing with you. Enjoy! http://www.parents.com/toddlers-preschoolers/feeding/healthy-eating/the-20-best-snacks-for-kids/

[05/01/17] We had a very mild winter here in Northern VA....While that was great, the ticks this season are thriving in our area. Please make sure to check your kids (and pets!) daily for ticks and learn the proper removal, should you find any on your little ones. http://www.happyhealthykids.com/keep-kids-safe-from-ticks/
[03/21/16] Happy Spring to all! Some of you may already know this, but for those that don't... The first day of Spring also marks the first day of the Persian new year, also known as "Norooz" or "New Day." There is a beautiful culture and history involved with the Persian new year celebration. We found a great resource, including a cute informative video, for little ones to learn about this festive celebration! Enjoy. http://www.apptalia.com/norooz.html
Are you little ones obsessed with slime and silly putty? Ours are! We make homemade playdoh in our preschool, but we haven't done slime yet so we may have to give this one a whirl. This particular recipe is super cute because of the ocean theme.
If anyone tries this before we do, let us know how it turns out! http://www.two-daloo.com/ocean-swirl-glitter-slime-recipe/

[09/28/15] We are so excited to start our new pre-school curriculum! In October, our little ones will be focusing on the letters H, N, and J, practicing sight words, pattern recognition, and learning about shapes and cubes! Parents, you can practice these things at home by simply asking kids what words begin with the letters, or to point out household items that are square or cube shaped. There is an opportunity to learn everywhere we go, and while we LOVE teaching your little ones, we know that parents are a child's first teacher, and the most important ones of all.
