After much discussion and thought, we have decided to take a couple of R&R days. So, with that, Albany Country Floral & Gifts will be closed Friday, July 3rd & Saturday, July 4th to celebrate the holiday! See you all on Monday at 8:30am!!

Saint Joseph, MN June 24th, 2020—Brenny Transportation, Inc. has been named one of the Top Workplaces in Minnesota by the Star Tribune. A complete list of those selected is available at StarTribune.com/topworkplaces2020 and will also be published in the Star Tribune Top Workplaces special section on Sunday, June 28.
Produced by the same team that compiles the 29-year-old Star Tribune 100 report of the best-performing public companies in Minnesota, Top Workplaces recognizes the most progressive companies in Minnesota based on employee opinions measuring engagement, organizational health and satisfaction. The analysis included responses from over 76,000 employees at Minnesota public, private and nonprofit organizations.
The results of the Star Tribune Top Workplaces are based on survey information collected by Energage, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention.
“We are so honored to be named a Top Workplace again! Since we opened our doors in 1996, we have been saying and living: “People before profits.” We have an amazing team at Brenny that is driven to serve our customers, our community and each other. We are a family brought together by trucking!” Says Joyce Brenny, President, CEO and Founder.
Star Tribune Publisher Michael J. Klingensmith said, “The companies in the Star Tribune Top Workplaces deserve high praise for creating the very best work environments in the state of Minnesota. My congratulations to each of these exceptional companies.”
Brenny Transportation, Inc, was founded in 1996 because Joyce and Todd Brenny wanted to be part of a company that treated people with respect, a company which honored champion character with a team driven to serve! Brenny has grown because of the company’s superior respect for their team member’s needs, as well as honoring and rewarding the hard work and dedication of their champion team members.

To qualify for the Star Tribune Top Workplaces, a company must have more than 50 employees in Minnesota. Nearly 3,000 companies were invited to participate. Rankings were composite scores calculated purely on the basis of employee responses.

Mother of Mercy Senior Living

Mother of Mercy completed Covid-19 testing on-site over a 3 consecutive week period. The Minnesota Air National Guard conducted the tests on residents, tenants and employees throughout the Mother of Mercy Senior Living on May 29th, June 5th, and June 12th. The Minnesota Department of Health Lab then transported and processed all of the tests. We are proud to say that ALL Covid test results came back NEGATIVE.
To promote continued safety of residents and tenants, Mother of Mercy partnered in an infection control and prevention exercise with medical professionals from the Centers for Disease Control and Minnesota Department of Health on June 3rd, 2020. The eight - member team, including a Medical Doctor, reviewed infection control policies and procedures, toured the campus, and offered suggestions on ways to further educate staff on preventing risks of infections, especially those related to Coivd-19. Additionally, the team interviewed employees and listened to the challenges of ordering Personal Protective Equipment and offered additional medical advice.
It was a great opportunity to collaborate with these experts who have been dealing with the major concerns of Covid-19 throughout Minnesota and the country. Tammy Hale, MSN, RN, CIC Nurse Specialist for Infection Control and Response with Minnesota Department of Health stated, “I would like to again express my sincere gratitude for welcoming representatives from MDH and the CDC into your facility. The dedication and commitment by your staff was evident…. Thank you for all you do for your residents and staff!”

Mother of Mercy Senior Living

We want to thank all members of the public and the many families and friends who have residents and tenants living at Mother of Mercy, for their patience and understanding during the Covid-19 visitor restriction in effect since March, 2020. As of this writing:
• We have NO positive Covid-19 cases on our campus.
• We have had numerous tests performed on anyone on our campus with any signs or symptoms related to Covid.
• ALL residents and tenants have tested NEGATIVE for Covid-19.
• Several weeks ago, a single staff member had a positive test for Covid-19 and was removed from the schedule. All staff and residents that were in contact with the staff member were tested and ALL tests came back NEGATIVE.
Q: Who decided to not allow visitations to Mother of Mercy and the other Care Centers in Minnesota?
A: The Minnesota Department of Health, (MDH), in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control, (CDC), gave the order for all Skilled Nursing Facilities in Minnesota to no longer allow outside visitors.
Q; Why are visitors being restricted?
A: To minimize the risk of exposure to the Covid-19 virus, to members of our most vulnerable adult population that could risk serious health issues, including possible death.
Q: How much longer will visitor restrictions be in place?
A: That will up to MDH, CDC, and the spread of Covid-19. We will continue our efforts to stay informed with the most up-to-date and accurate information when visitations can resume.
Q: Are there any “exceptions” to allowing visitors?
A: Exceptions exist to allowing medical professionals and certain numbers of family members whose loved one is on Hospice and nearing or in the end-of-life stages.
Q: What precautions is Mother of Mercy taking to help prevent Covid-19 from coming into the campus?
A: ALL employees and visitors are screened at the door, prior to entering the building and starting their shift, for temperatures and the signs and symptoms outlined by MDH and the CDC. If any staff member or medical professional is not feeling well, they are instructed to stay home until they are well.
Q: What else has Mother of Mercy done to help prevent Covid-19 virus from entering the campus?
A: Short answer: A LOT!
• Mother of Mercy invited the CDC and MDH, and a State Epidemiologist, (M.D.), on site to review our infection control and prevention policies, tour the campus, interview staff, and make recommendations and validate all that is being currently being done properly.
• The Air National Guard Medical Team has been on-site three consecutive weeks, (on Fridays), to administer Covid-19 testing to employees, residents, and tenants.
o To date, ALL tests have come back NEGATIVE. This is great news but we know the virus is still a risk and we must continue are best efforts to keep out the virus.
Thanks you all again for your continued support.

Mother of Mercy Senior Living

Mother of Mercy Senior Living has an employee that recently tested positive for COVID-19. We have removed the employee from the workplace and have increased staff monitoring for symptoms to twice daily at this time.

We do not have any residents or tenants in our nursing home, assisted living, or Pondview HUD Housing buildings that have tested positive for COVID-19 at this time. We have increased resident monitoring to 3 times daily in our nursing home and will continue with diligent monitoring in the Assisted Living and Pondview HUD Housing buildings.

The National Guard is scheduled to test all employees, residents and tenants on Friday, May 29th here at Mother of Mercy. We have inquired to see if this testing can be completed sooner; however are awaiting return response. We are in contact with MDH and the State Emergency Ops Center for continued guidance.

Any further questions residents or families may have can be directed to Sarah Schmit, ADON during normal business hours. Thank You!
