Hearts up at the AFPD! Sam's been hard at work on this!
Albany Police Department
There have been several received reports of a group of individuals going into rural communities and advising homeowners they are there to discuss COVID-19. Once they are allowed in, they rob the occupants. If you should receive such a visit, do not allow them in and contact the Albany Police Department. Also the Census Bureau is not conducting any field operations at this time, so the same would apply for anyone alleges they are with the Census.
Please keep Dr. Bradley’s family, friends and colleagues in your prayers. Dr. Bradley has been a huge part of helping EMS evolve in the state of Illinois. He overseen our ambulance here in Albany for years. Rest easy Doc...& thanks for all you’ve done!!!
This posting was taken from a dear friend, Matt Moyes, as I just can't find the words over this loss..... Dr. Bradley was so much to so many.... Tony Tracy
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the news I was given today, and still can’t seem to really make sense of it.
Dr. Walter Bradley...my teacher, my mentor, and most importantly my brother and friend died this morning after battling renal disease.
Walter has been a very dear and loving friend for over 30 years. He taught me how to be a paramedic, instructor, EMS director/chief, leader, and consultant.
This man forgot more about EMS than I could ever know, and played a huge role in defining EMS in the state of Illinois. He was a SWAT doc for the Moline, IL PD and was the medical director of the IL State Police.
Walter was the very first NAEMT national medical director of the year, and served as the chair of the board of directors for ITLS for a number of years.
He was a loving father, friend, and an absolute riot at parties!! He truly loved helping others and serving as a role model for others. He was an absolutely outstanding doctor that would strive to bring evidence based practice and cutting edge medicine to all he cared for.
This man always pushed me to be better. He was the driving force behind me to create the EMS education programs I have, and to take my show on the road as a speaker. He told me that he believed in me, and was always there...any time day or night...if I needed advise or a friend to lean on.
When I became a nurse practitioner he told me that I belonged in the ED, and I can still hear his voice breaking when he told me how proud of me he was.
I wouldn't be half the medical professional I am today without this man's guidance, wisdom, and love.
Thank you Walter!! You will never be forgotten!!! Give Momma Jo a great big hug for us!!
**This picture was from the 2018 IEMTA Conference, Doc, Andy Jackson, and Tony Tracy...
How awesome is this?!?! Our very own Kyle Kruthoff making headlines again!! We are so proud of you Kyle!!!!!
Our hearts go out to Riverdale Fire Department, with the loss of one of their own, due to complications of Cystic Fibrosis. 👩🚒 💔
We have received word that Firefighther Analiese Chapman from Riverdale Fire Department will be escorted from the University of Iowa Hospitals to Runge Funeral Home in Davenport tomorrow (Monday Feb. 3rd) starting at 7:00pm via I-80. If your Department wants to line the overpasses, ISP will be conducting the escort and will likely keep locations updated.

It is with a very heavy heart that Chief Michael Lavoie, City Manager Edward M. Augustus, Jr. and Mayor Petty announce the devastating loss of Lt. Jason Menard, a member of the WFD since 2010 assigned to Ladder 5, Group 2 at McKeon Road Fire Station. Lt. Menard succumbed to his injuries battling a 4 alarm fire on Stockholm Street this morning, Wednesday, November 13. He leaves behind his wife Tina, 3 children & parents. It is an extremely difficult day for the Worcester Fire Department. Lt. Menard and his crew acted selflessly and heroically. Please keep the family of Lt. Menard, his friends and crew in your thoughts and prayers.
Honor, integrity, dedication, passion. These words help describe the members of the Albany Fire department. Tonight, we gathered together as a department, to recognize all the men and women that dedicate their time and knowledge to the AFPD. We hand out 3 awards every year. The recipients are chosen by their peers. Tonight, it was a true honor to award Fire Chief Leo Geerts, with the Officer of The Year award. Chief Geerts is also recognized for his FORTY years of dedicated service, to the AFPD. With pride we awarded EMS Coordinator and Assistant Chief Brooke Posateri with the EMT of The Year award. With excitement, we awarded firefighter Brady Classen with the Firefighter of The Year award. To say we are proud of these individuals, is an understatement. We are so proud of all the dedicated members of the AFPD. 🚒 🚑 👩🚒👨🏼🚒👩🏽⚕️⛑🚨

This morning MTFPD burned a structure donated for training purposes. In preparation, one bedroom door was closed. An hour into the fire, the outcome of that very simple fire safety intervention is still evident. CLOSE BEFORE YOU DOZE. Thank you to firefighter Sam Duggan for creating this compelling fire safety infographic. Our thoughts and prayers are with Fulton County Sheriffs office, Northern Tazewell Fire and all that knew Officer/Paramedic Chisum. May all that knew him carry on his memory. Rest In Peace sir.
We are at a loss for words and writing this post with a heavy heart. Today we lost one of our own. Troy Chisum worked on our duty crew as a medic and firefighter but was a man of many hats. Troy started with us in 2006 and has been working part-time for 13 years. Hard to put into words how much of an awesome person he was. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends and co-workers. The world lost a good one today.
