Tuesday Tip:

Boating, fishing, or swimming this summer? Be aware of your surroundings and potential electrical hazards.

Swimming Safety - Never allow swimming near the boat, marina, or launching ramp. Residual current could flow into the water from the boat, or the marina’s wiring, potentially putting anyone in the water at risk of Electric Shock Drowning.

Put It to the Test - Be sure your boat is properly maintained and consider having it inspected annually.

Conduct leakage testing to determine if electrical current is escaping the vessel.

Use the Right Tool - Never use household cords near water. Use only portable GFCIs or shore power cords (including “Y” adapters) that are “UL- Marine Listed” when using electricity near water.

Know Your Surroundings - Know where your main breaker(s) are located on both the boat and the shorepower source so that you can respond quickly in case of an emergency.

Be aware of any potential electrical hazards by checking for nearby power lines before boating, fishing, or swimming.

Learn the Code - Regularly have your boat’s electrical system inspected and upgraded by a certified electrician to be sure it meets your local and state NEC, NFPA, and ABYC safety codes and standards.

God Bless America!

💙❤️🇺🇸From our family to yours “Have a happy and safe Fourth of July”. 🇺🇸❤️💙

[04/09/18]   I have had several people call me looking for Nathan so if anyone has tried to reach him within the last week and today we’re so sorry for the inconvenience! He has been at a job where there is absolutely no cell service. If you need him please send a text, leave him a voicemail or give me a call and I will relay the message! We appreciate all of our customers so much!

[04/03/18]   Tuesday Tip: Broken or damaged cords can be a fire hazard. Keep this important tip in mind as we enter the spring yard-working season - Routinely check cords, outlets, switches, and appliances for signs of damage. Do not use damaged electrical devices.

[11/04/17]   Don't Forget! Daylight Saving Time ends:
Sunday, November 5th - Remember to check your smoke alarms when you set your clocks back!

[09/20/17]   Wednesday Tip: With fall just around the corner, keep this important safety tip in mind; Inspect fall & winter weather tools such as leaf and snow blowers along with their power cords for unusual wear and tear. Repair or replace worn tools and parts right away!

[05/22/17]   May is Electrical Safety Month

Below are some helpful tips:

◾Use appliances and equipment according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
◾Replace damaged electrical equipment or have it repaired at an authorized repair center.
◾Make sure power strips, cords and surge suppressors are designed to handle the loads for their intended use. Avoid overloading circuits by plugging too many items into the same outlet.
◾Use ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protection when working where water is near electricity to protect against electric shock.
◾Make certain that all products and equipment are approved by an independent testing laboratory, such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), or ETL-SEMKO (ETL).
◾Add protection by installing a new electrical safety device—an arc fault circuit interrupter (AFCI)—to detect and stop electrical arcs that can cause fires. Arcs are not detected by most breakers and fuses.
◾Avoid contact with power lines by being aware of the location of power lines and keeping a distance of at least 10 feet between you and power lines to avoid arcs.

[05/03/17]   Here is your Wednesday Plumbing Tips!

1. Stop Water Infiltration
Make sure water is directed away from the home. Fix Plumbing leaks as soon as possible and cover soil in crawl space with plastic

2. Keep home clean and dry
Clean fabrics frequently and store in a dry place. Consider having your air ducts inspected and cleaned. Reduce moisture with dehumidifiers

3. Use disinfectants
Check for mold often and disinfect with commercial disinfectant and fungicide.
