Media briefing currently underway on the Pension fund Act regulations. Regulation 13 previously known as Regulation 28; sets out the types of assets in which pension funds may invest. The regulation intends to foster prudent investing by restricting the maximum exposure to each class and to promote investments by pension funds in Namibian assets amongs others.

The Bank of Namibia (BoN) and the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) jointly released the annual Financial Stability Report (FSR) on 2 May 2019. The report assesses the stability of the Namibian financial sector and its resilience to internal and external shocks during 2018. Below is the live event that took place this morning.

The Financial Stability Report (FSR) media launch currently underway in the Capital. The purpose of the FSR is to identify risks and vulnerabilities in the financial system and assess the resilience of the financial system to domestic and external shocks. The report is a joined publication between NAMFISA and the Bank of Namibia. The Microlending and Intemediaries department held industry meetings on Friday the 8th March 2019. The purpose is to educate industry and engage on matters of concern. The department is responsible for supervision and regulation of the microlending industry. Further engagements are expected in Rundu, Tsumeb and Swakopmund this week.
