My beautifull pot plant is flowering now.
I see there are a lot of Steve Hofmeyer's posts added onto Covid 19 info pages. I Do not know how it got there and I do not know how to get rid of it. It feels to me someone has hijacked our page. That "advert" does not belong on this page.We distance ourselves from any of Steve Hofmeyers pages.
Who-ever posted it, please introduce yourself to us and delete all Steves post asap. Thank you
Something special!! Sandhof lilies in full bloom & the Red-spotted lily weevil in action!
The 700 hectare pan is filled and the Sandhof lilies (Crinum paludosum) is making the best of the abundance of water. These lilies (which are actually not lilies but rather part of the amaryllis family) grow in other places, but this is the only place in the world where they litterly bloom by the millions! For the last 2 years they came up quite sparsely but this year the entire pan is covered.
They only flower for couple of days. Definitely worth visiting and one thing less on my bucket list now! If you want to see this year's spectacle, get there before the end of the weekend as they won't last much longer or wait for another year...
Feel free to share 😁
Amazing natural wonders right at your doorstep..🎋
And this beautiful speciment was hiding in my curtains after the good rain we had. He now lives at the river.
Hierdie kewer is glo die wat die lelies verorber wanneer hulle klaar geblom het. Ek kry toe die outjie in ons tuin. Hy het my lelies kom opeet. Mooi kewer.
We are so proud and happy that the hard work we've put into building up Hudup Guesthouse during the last 3 years paid off. Thank you to all our wonderful guests who stayed with us. We appreciated each and every person we have met. Steyn and Florance

[10/09/19] Wow! Strong winds tonight with lots of dust/sand blowing around in Maltahohe. Scary at times.
Yesterday we found this beautifull Euoropean bee catcher dead on our verandah. We feel sad for losing the bird. Hope there will be more of them in the future. Wonderful colours. Nature at its best.
We can accommodate small groups. When people do not mind to share we have 16 beds available.
2 people sharing per room, we can accommodate 10 persons.
Please contact us for further info.
[08/15/19] We are so excited, at last we will have a nice reception..... it is almost finished!
