Goat Island, Ardmore, Co Waterford.
Waterford City and County Council will shortly be unveiling the first two small rustic and natural play areas which will form part of an overall plan for the Waterford Greenway Play Trail.
These areas will offer families and children an opportunity for rest and play and will add to what the Greenway already has to offer to visitors and the local community alike. The play areas incorporate the old railway theme with an engine and carriage, sleeper paths and wonderful small scale tunnels and viaducts. There will also be some more traditional play equipment such as swings, climbing bars and see saws, as well as picnic benches, tables and bike parking located at both play areas.
** We would ask people and particularly parents to note however that as yet the play areas are still under construction and will not be available for use until later in March to coincide with the official Greenway Opening on 25th March 2017**
The Waterford Greenway Play Trail is an initiative of Waterford City & County Council with the design and installation being carried out by Creative Play Solutions from Galway who are working in conjunction with local wood carver, John Hayes of Special Branch Wood Carvings.
The photos show the play areas which are currently under construction.
