Been in today, bought three books including Mike Brearley On Cricket, and, upstairs, spotted a display of books, half-price (from £20 to £10), but can't remember the exact titles...something like 100 books to read, 100 paintings, 100 Quotes, etc. Can you confirm the titles, so certain ones can be added to my wish list!
Goodness knows when we shall next get to town, but, while the Long Wait continues, can I ask if it is possible to ascertain whether the book Gilbert of Gilbert & Sullivan by Andrew Crowther (paperback edition) is still in print?
omething going on, u just hve to imagine where? Pamela
could i make a suggestion, that cafe w, stop using plastic straws and switch to paper ones, to protect the environment , lots of other outlets have already done this. less plastic is always a good idea, great coffee by the way.😜
Spotted the new paperback edition of My Son My Son by Howard Spring while in the shop yesterday. I forgot to check the name of the publisher. Can you confirm, please? Reason is I have mentioned the 'discovery' on the Howard Spring Appreciation Group's page ---do feel free to check this out!
Went into your Waterstones on Sunday to buy The Book of Dust which was advertised with half price stickers on both editions behind your counter. I asked about them and was told by the woman on the till the £25 blue version wasn't half price, only the version with the £20 dust jacket on. Would have preffered the version lacking a dust jacket but since the £20 was half price I bought that version instead, but I thought it was weird both versions had half price stickers on when it was just one. Just been on your website and the £25 version IS half price, so either you're false advertising with the stickers in-branch and it's only an online deal, or your staff member lied to me. The woman at the till was also quite unfriendly and rude, which I have found before when I've bought things from your branch. Not impressed at all.
I just wanted to say thank you to you guys, I had got a ticket for the Peter V Brett signing on the 27th but couldn't make due to short notice surgery 😕 the lady I spoke to when I called was an absolute star and sorted it out for me to get a signed copy of the new book 📙 I then received a phone call on the 28th to let me know they book was all sorted and would I like them to post it to me? The cost of my ticket was deducted from the cost of the book and it is now winging its way to me at no extra cost 😊 as my dad said when I told him about it, this is customer service at its very best 😊 you guys ROCK!!! Thank you so much ❤️💙💚💛💜
