The first micropub in Greenwich
Popped into Bexley Brewery today to buy some beer for a bar we are running at Parksfest tomorrow at East Greenwich Pleasaunce. A nice break from the building work for us all. Hope to see some of you there!
A little bit of sand blasting today to clean the brick that will be left exposed - nice! And a sandblasted original pulley air vent that will be put back into service.
At the back of the joint the toilets are taking shape. They will even have real walls eventually.
Some more photos from a week or so ago. Progress is steady. Looking like a really good space to escape to.
Work has (finally) commenced at the Ale House! First big surprise is the lovely brick work and our London Arch that's been hidden away for years. We will keep posting photos as we progress so you can follow the journey with us.
Good luck to all participants of the London Marathon!
The River is not open for business this time around but there's always next year... we are at the premises this morning though in case anybody wants to swing by for a chat!
The London Marathon is a long-distance running event held in London, United Kingdom, part of the World Marathon Majors. The event was first run on 29 March 1981 and has been held in the spring of every year since. Since 2010, the race has been sponsored by Virgin Money.
[03/25/17] More research tonight. Some amazing beers. Southwark LPA Golden Ale is the highlight!
Moved to another branch of the bears, from left to right:
- Snails Bank - Tumbledown
- The Brew Shack - 8 Grain Porter
- Vocation Brewery - Bread and Butter
- Eight Arch - Trefoil
Doing research with a pint of Mr M's Porter and a half of Thistly Cross Whiskey Cask! Both on the wanted list now...
The River is pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted. We have had a few celebratory pints (as you do), but now the hard work must start.
Updates a plenty to follow with progress on our build and highlights from yet more beer research (someone's got to do it)!
So cast an eye across The River by liking our page and watch this space!
