[03/14/18]   A day in the life
Morning 5k run to and around Princes Park in prep for Liverpool half marathon Sunday 25th
Discussing the need for a space to feel and recognise your emotions (cry too) for overall wellbeing and how yoga isn't about "making shapes" but so much more - self-compassion, being gentle with yourself, being present and not needing to be any more than you are right now
Helping a student gain more mobility in her legs and lessen pain in the outer knee/thigh with stretches for the IT band - who knew there are so many!
Throw in a couple of trips up and down Duke Street, rest and reflection and prepping later for group class at Quaker Meeting House

It has been a chilly week, well done for making it to class. Hoping the weather hasn't caused you too much stress and discomfort. We've been lucky to have snow in Liverpool, a pretty and magical sight on some days. It was refreshing to be in the warm at hot yoga yesterday - always enjoy it more during 'winter months'. #yogahub #liverpool #warmup

Classes are on as usual this week. I amsterdam... I did quite a bit of running a few years back and ran the Amsterdam marathon in 2010. Was such a great time and I remember using my yoga to help keep injuries at bay and focus on breathing deeply. So happy to be running again! Started doing the Princes parkrun at new year and feeling the benefits already - makes for a positive start to 2018. #runner #runningyogi #inhalepositivity #parkrun

10 years a yogi. I can still remember my first class with Claire, a very inspirational teacher at Leeds university. Yoga has certainly helped shape my life and I feel thankful for having it to lean on and to support me - so I can pass onto others too. Yoga by the Christmas tree this afternoon @whiscwomenshealth Rest at a time of year we often feel more tired, an overall stretch when we want to curl up on the sofa but can benefit greatly from keeping active, both physically and mentally. I've been so proud of these women for showing up each week - a sign of inner strength, dedication and self-motivation. Join us next Monday for a well deserved candle meditation and treats.

There is more and more research going into the benefits of yoga for depression and other mental health issues. These findings published in the New Scientist are pretty impressive, wouldn't you agree? Yoga is often used for stress relief. A recent study determines if practicing Bikram hot yoga may also reduce symptoms of depression.

[09/04/17]   It's the little things - not necessarily noticing that you're loads more flexible, but that by focusing on your breathing you're able to relax more in a stretch, not hold so tightly and feel yourself opening up.
