This is a fantastic video. Now is the time to support our small businesses all around the U.K. I know we have and will continue too!

With some of our parcels there have been some lovely personal messages from those faces behind the business name.

Up and down the country, in garden studios and at kitchen tables, our 5,000 small creative businesses have been busy beavering away to create thoughtful gifts for loved ones like yours. Now it’s time for us to be there for them.

For those businesses locally, letters are being sent out

The council is sending letters this week to about 3,000 local businesses which are eligible for the Government’s business relief grants. This will go to your premises address or (where different) your correspondence address for business rates.

If you have any immediate concerns, then please get in touch. Lots of information and support about the grants, eligibility criteria and further business advice is available here: www.great-yarmouth.gov.uk/coronavirus-business-support, which is being kept updated almost daily. #GYHelptoHelp

Earlier tonight, the Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced a new package to support the Self Employed. Here is a summary:

The scheme is similar to that of the Employed in that it is a direct cash grant of 80% of the profits with a cap of £2500 per month.
The scheme is available to those with trading profits of less than £50,000 in the tax year 2018-19.
To qualify, more than half of their income during 2018-19 tax year must be from Self Employment.
The grant will cover the 3 months to May and will be paid in a lump sum from the beginning of June. This will be based on an average of trading profits from the 3 prior years to determine the value of the grant.
Self employed are also entitled to support from the government - Universal Credit, and Business Continuity Loans.

Those who pay themselves a salary and dividend (limited companies) are not eligible for this but can claim their salary element via the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

What do I need to do?
HMRC will contact all those that they see as eligible. This will be based on the information they have received from your Self Assessments. If successful, they will ask for you to fill in a form online and payment will be returned directly into your bank account.

Running your business with COVID-19 - Haslewood Accountancy

Here is some advise for running your own business in today's current climate.

haslewoodaccountancy.co.uk I can completely understand the impact of running a business with what is going on in the world a challenge. Five ways to work well from home

Some handy things to do for those of us having to work from home.

bbc.com The coronavirus outbreak means many will be working from home for the first time. Here's how to get it right.

Receipt Bank

Here is just one way to eliminate paperwork.

Welcome to your paperless future.

Here is just one of the snippets of news from the new Budget and how the government is looking to support SME’s during Coronavirus.

[03/11/20]   At lunchtime I am sat watching the new Budget seeing what implications this will have on not just me but you too!

Watch out for a summary over the next few days....

In the coming weeks, ReceiptBank are changing the layout. This will show if you use your laptop / PC for reviewing your business transactions.

As today is World Book Day - what is your favourite book or one that has really stuck in your mind?

One of the downsides of working from home is that #selfemployed tend to forget our own self care and put everyone else first.
I personally have noticed this over the past couple of weeks.
To start March off on the right foot, I am listening to my body more, taking rest when I need and not when I can get a snippet of time whilst running around like a headless chicken. I am learning to love me again as without that there is no one else to keep spinning the plates of personal / family life and running my own business.
Just simple things - going for a walk, listen to music, go to a different environment are all ways that can help us.

Did you know that Haslewood Accountancy is now one of Receipt Bank's silver partners?

Interested to see how Receipt Bank could work for you, please drop me a message and we can explore more.

Have you done something thoughtful and kind today? Just one thing can turn someone's life upside down from a bad thing into a good one.

A picture can tell a thousand words....
