Revival Fellowship Bern / Switzerland

🇨🇭 Many thanks to Sister Yasmine from our Switzerland assembly who recently visited us for a week. It was great fun and fellowship and the Toblerone went down a treat! 🍫 😋Thanks again and God bless you.

Sister Yasmine’s testimony:
I heard the gospel through my friend. We grew up together and I always saw that her family was different to mine. They were happy and had a happy family life which wasn't like that with my family. From a young age in I used to go to religious classes from the reformed church and I always thought they would know God and the bible. At the age of 15 we spoke about death and what may come after you die. To my disappointment the church couldn't give me any answer and I was really scared of dying and wanted to have an answer. My friend then witnessed to me and she told me that I can have the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. A few weeks later I prayed for the holy spirit and spoke in tongues. It was the answer to all my questions and I was very grateful for it. I was baptised 2 months later and my new life with the lord started. My mother was against me being in the fellowship ever since I started coming along and she gave me a really hard time. I wasn't allowed to to go any meetings but by praying and reading my bible I always had a happy heart. I was kicked out from home at the age of 18 because my mother told me she doesn't want to live with me anymore if I keep going to meetings. Praise the lord I had the opportunity to start living with brothers and sisters which was a great blessing. Life in the lord just keeps getting better.

Enjoy! 😎

I interview Pr Sammy Mwanzia from Kenya, who was visiting Australia in 2018. Coming from a “Christian” background, Pr Sammy had visited many churches, but finally saw the Truth being preached, just as it was in the Bible. He has a great story to tell of how God has changed and blessed both his life, but also the lives of many other people in Kenya and other parts of Africa.

It doesn’t matter where in the world you are, God can change your life. I’d love for you to reach out via email to [email protected] or head to our website to find out what the bible says.

Thursday's testimony looks at a recent road accident........ in Erica's own words. October 17th was the day the Lord protected me from serious injury or even worse. On this day I was driving on a country road when, instead of braking, I accelerated around a corner which I knew to be somewhat difficult. As a result my car crossed over to the other side of the road and I lost control. I can see the many miracles in what happened next.
Miracle #1 no other vehicles were coming in the opposite direction.
Miracle #2 my vehicle went through two gum trees, collecting only a portion of one of the trees (a witness said my car was airborne).
Miracle #3 The vehicle, instead of rolling sideways, flipped end ways, eventually landing back on it's wheels. I was knocked unconscious but when I came to I was able to extract myself without waiting to be rescued by SES.
Miracle #4 I was in hospital for only 7 hours with no broken bones, my only injuries were soft tissue damage and cuts on my hand from the smashed windscreen. Looking at these photos and remembering that day, I can certainly say 'praise the Lord!'

Sister Imogen first came along to the meeting when her mother came to the Lord. She struggled in her teenage years as she was tempted by the things of the the world. As she kept coming to the meetings she soon realised all the answers and true happiness where to be found with God and on that realisation, her relationship with God was restored. She is married in the Lord and leads a very happy fulfilled life, overcoming with God's power. #trflife

Protection for Andrew! In 1985 I was working at Woodlawn Mine, near Goulburn, as a mechanical engineer. On Union Picnic Day management ran the mill with a reduced staff. I was on night shift with a reduced staff of three or so. There was a problem with a conveyor belt that moved concentrates and I was instructed to repair it. As part of my investigations I tapped the head drum with my shifting spanner and my hand and spanner became caught. My hand and arm were pulled in to above the elbow and I was afraid that my arm would be crushed or torn off - the emergency switch was out of reach. I was pulled to my knees and I began praying in the Spirit. As I prayed, the 3 large V-belts began to burn out and eventually the conveyor belt stopped. God took away any pain and gave me peace and calmness. About fifteen minutes later my workmates came looking for me and reversed the conveyor belt, releasing my arm. They were amazed I was so calm. The 12 inch shifting spanner was bent but my hand and arm were unhurt. I have a small scar on one finger and a bent shifting spanner to remind me of that miraculous event. I praise God for his protection.

A quick scribble tonight from SUNDAY NIGHT SCRIBE

Today we looked at a couple of questions, the very first question that appears in the Old Testament and the first one that appears in the New Testament.

In the Old Testament the question comes in Genesis 3:9 “And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?” Adam and Eve had disobeyed God, recognised their own nakedness and shame and had tried to hide from Him. Obviously this was a waste of time and God’s question was not admitting that He couldn’t find them, but rather enquiring of the condition that they now found themselves in having ‘eaten of the forbidden fruit’ – “So where did that get you?”

The first question in the New Testament comes from man. Matthew 2:1,2 “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.” These men knew that this was actually happening, the true fulfilment of prophecy, but couldn’t pinpoint the exact spot.

In these two questions, the plan of salvation is revealed. Wise men and women will identify themselves as sinners and recognise the untenable situation they are in because of their sin. They will see the need to seek out Jesus, to find out “where He is” and make sure they are there with Him, worshipping Him as their King.

‘Peace, joy and contentment’ are the three words that sum up how Adam and Renee, recent new members of Te Puke Revival fellowship, are feeling right now. Not to mention, the excitement of their impending wedding and the prospect of married life together with God’s blessing and being part of their new family of God.

Although together as a couple for over seven years now, their journey to being Born Again started from quite different beginnings.

Adam was brought up in a Baptist church but when he reached his teen years, lost interest and found himself more and more involved in a worldly lifestyle. However, through it all he never lost his belief that there was a God and that one day he would lead the life God wanted him to have as he knew something was missing and felt bad to be leading a life without God’s blessing.

Shortly before hearing the full gospel, Adam had been seeking the Lord and called out for guidance. Within a week of this heartfelt prayer his then girlfriend, now fiancé, Renee told him she had met a girl from work who she really liked and who had told her about the fellowship she attended along with her husband. Immediately Adam was keen to look in to it further and Renee was happy to come along to check it too as well as to support Adam. Though Renee wasn’t brought up religiously and admits she was ‘a bit on the fence about whether there was a God or not’ she was interested to find out for herself and was drawn to the testimony in her friends at work.

For the first few months they were happy to just observe and take it all in as they didn’t want to jump in without understanding what they were getting into. A weekend snow camp trip was a turning point for Adam who was encouraged by some brothers to step out in faith and ‘just go for it’, trust in the Lord and let him sort out all the rest. Together Adam and Renee decided to step out in faith and be baptised shortly after and let the Lord guide them in all the rest of the big decisions they had to make. It was a real blessing that many of their family members were able to come and be part of their special day also. Two weeks later, they received the Holy Spirit together with a group of saints and cried tears of joy.

Their first big miracle was that God gave them a peace while they sorted out their living arrangements. Because they knew they had to move out from living together until they were married, they had really dreaded being separated, and though they miss each other a lot, they know God is really blessing their decision.

When sharing her testimony recently, Renee explained how she has suffered from severe anxiety over the years and since being Born Again has noticed a huge improvement with it. An example of this was when invited to attend a fellowship weekend down in Christchurch, she amazed herself (and Adam as well) that she went all by herself and actually really enjoyed it. Whenever she feels anxious now she knows to just stop and have some prayer and usually finds herself feeling much better than before.

Adam shared a huge learning curve testimony which involved their new kitten Buddy. Renee rang him at work one day when she remembered she’d left the window open before work. She was concerned their new kitten would jump out and get lost in the neighbourhood somewhere and she was really distressed. Adam left work and immediately started searching all over the neighbourhood for Buddy. Hours and much petrol spent later, he was home and feeling really upset for Renee so he decided to have some prayer. After 10 minutes of prayer he got up and opened the front door to find Buddy sitting on the front door step! Light bulb moment! Prayer first next time, every time!

The future is looking very bright for this young couple with God on their side, and we are rejoicing to be able to share it with them! Praise the Lord.

Words spoken to a stranger........Susanne from Bern, Switzerland really appreciates the fact that in 1991 whilst backpacking through Australia she was presented with the truth in Adelaide of how God could be real in her life. Woodcroftian Gerard Nobel (now asleep in the Lord) and Heather Buck (from The Vogue) spoke to Susanne at an outreach where there was information on Bible Prophecy. Susanne, who is German, was trying to understand and before long she was introduced to a german sister, Ingrid and her daughter. They were able to confirm what Gerard and Heather were telling her, but being German, Susanne really connected with them. As a result Susanne knew she had been presented with the truth, she was baptised and received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. She was thrilled; to think she travelled 15,500 klm's to experience God's power. But God had great plans for Susanne and today she is a integral part of the Bern Revival Fellowship in Switzerland. Outreaching and street witnessing are so important, just ask Susanne.

Some supporting men in the meeting...Praise the Lord! Thank you for coming to Ramon, Giovanca and Nora from our Dordrecht Fellowship in Holland, and to Mala and Sunia from our Nausori Fellowship in Fiji.

Never give up on family members! Shirley (from Singapore) was witnessed to by her daughter and did not receive the message well. Life went on and Shirley and her husband Jeff showed no interest in God or the assembly life her adult children and grandchildren were experiencing with God in their lives. 21 years later, Shirley was travelling in China and her tour guide told Shirley about her personal experience with God. What she heard sounded a lot like what her daughter had told her. She asked the tour guide what church she went to. The reply was 'the singapore revival fellowship'. Shirley replied, 'please don't say anything but my son-in-law is Pastor Colin Tan and I will think about what you have told me'. She returned home and life went on. A little while later Shirley's neighbour called in to talk to her and mentioned she was looking for a place to worship God. She was a little distressed so Shirley took the neighbour inside to sit down. Shirley's husband said 'you should try the Revival Fellowship here in Singapore'. Shirley couldn't believe her ears. Her husband had never shown any interest in their children's church. The neighbour said she would go the next Sunday ONLY if Shirley and Jeff went with her. So the following week the 3 of them went to the meeting. The neighbour wanted to be baptised by full immersion as the bible instructed. But once again she asked Shirley and her husband to join her for the baptism. What happened next was Shirley and Jeff both were baptised and later received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. 21 years after her daughter first told her about God she came to the Lord through a tourist guide talking to her and a neighbour wanting to know God. Never give up on your family, the Lord knows the right time for everybody. That was over 20 years ago and Shirley and her husband continue to be an important part of the Singapore Revival Fellowship. (BTW the neighbour never got baptised! But she got Shirley and Jeff to the meeting). #testimoniesacrosstheworld Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 NKJV
