VIU Canadian Nursing Students Association

Mission Statement: To promote healthy learning by supporting nursing students and providing current resources to aid them with their educational goals.

For over 40 years, CNSA has represented the interests of nursing students to federal, provincial, and international governments and to other nursing and health care organizations.
As a member of CNSA, you have the opportunity to interact with other nursing students on educational, professional, and social levels. CNSA members connect with each other through annual national and regional conferences, CNSA member forums, Facebook, and Twitter.
The CNSA, with nearly 25,000 members, is an affiliate member of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) and Practical Nurses Canada, as well as an associate member of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU). The CNSA has a reciprocal relationship with Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) and is a co-chair of the New Health Professionals Network (NHPN).

The Leadership Development Program was established during the 2016 – 2017 CNSA Board of Directors (BOD) Term. The BOD determined a need to support students seeking out leadership opportunities within CNSA and through our stakeholders. The BOD developed 2 leadership awards which will be offered to 2 CNSA students in Chapter Schools in good standing.

Canadian Nursing Students' Association

The Canadian Nursing Students’ Association is seeking a Technology Officer to assist with our website updates,social media strategy and various other digital projects. Preference will be given to nursing students with the appropriate qualifications. Other disciplines may be considered.. The successful candidate will work from home on their own schedule to post Facebook updates, update and create new pages on our website, and create graphics for National Nursing Students’ Week and the CNSA National Conference. The expectation is that the technology officer will respond to all emails within 2 business days.

The position will have a $200 honorarium, paid out every two months, as well as the opportunity to attend CNSA board meetings upon request (in May, August, and January).

The successful candidate will have experience in:

- HTML 5
- Wordpress
- Web Service Administration (CPanel)
- Social media
- MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Publisher, Excel)
- Photoshop and Illustrator
- Excellent communication skills and well-developed interpersonal skills
- Able to balance multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate non-technical concepts into manageable projects while communicating effectively
- Fluent in French and English (written/spoken).
