Did you know that in December 1995, the Honourable Jean Augustine introduced a historic motion to recognize February as Black History Month in Canada? The motion was unanimously carried by the House of Commons.

To celebrate Black History Month 2018, please join us and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL) on February 12, to hear from Jean Augustine and B. Denham Jolly, a civil rights activist, broadcaster and businessman, publisher and author of In the Black: My Life. This year’s program will feature a conversation on the speakers’ experiences of and advocacy against anti-Black racism in Canada. Licensees will also be invited to consider whether and how they can use activism in their own practice.
