Dear Brethren:

Greetings in the all-powerful name of Jesus, our Soon Coming King.

The news all around us, at home and abroad is not good. We are plagued with suffering, sickness and death, and we often wonder, when will this end? But as a people of faith we are reminded that when Jesus comes, He will put an end to all suffering, sickness, pain and death. O what a glorious day that will be!

Once again, the Ministerial workforce of the East Caribbean Conference is experiencing grief and pain at the loss of one of our dedicated and committed workers – Pastor Jules Thomas of Dominica.

Pastor Thomas has been ailing for some time and we have been praying for his recovery, but God answered in another way. As Administration, colleagues and members, we grieve the passing of this faithful soldier. We also express on your behalf, condolences to his grieving family.

Prior to his death, Pastor Thomas served as a senior district Pastor in Dominica where he was well loved and appreciated by his parishioners, colleagues and friends.

The funeral Service for Pastor Jules Thomas will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 in Dominica.

We solicit your continued prayers and words of encouragement on behalf of his wife Althea, sons Ju-Lee Blandin and Jules Blandon Thomas and the entire family circle.

We take comfort in the words of Psalm 34:18 - The LORD is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

May His peace be with all who mourn! Sincerely yours,

R. Danforth Francis
PRESIDENT & RELIGIOUS LIBERTY DIRECTOR

Dear Brethren:

We give God praise and thanks for His many blessings on our lives.

The passing of one of our workers, Pastor Felix Jack, former Ministerial Secretary of the Conference, has brought sadness to all of us. We also remember those of our members who are mourning the loss of their loved ones. Our condolences and prayers are with you and we trust that the grace of God will keep us steadfast in the faith until the Great Reunion.

I wish to inform you that the funeral service for Pastor Jack will take place in his homeland, St. Vincent, on Monday, March 11, 2019. Tributes will begin at 12 noon and the service at 2 p.m. In light of this, arrangements have been made for our members to view the service live. The link is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQoWMCl-aGJy3YKIYJYfOfA or a Facebook live stream: https://www.facebook.com/richlandparksda/ .

There will also be a Memorial Service in Dominica on Sunday, March 17, 2019.

A condolence book will be available at the Conference office until the end of March for you to express your sympathies. Thereafter, the book will be given to the bereaved family.

Let us continue to do our part to show love, compassion and understanding to grieving families. “. . . When we feel the burden of sorrow, together we are reminded that God is the expert heart healer who knows how to mend our wounded hearts. “Comfort, comfort my people,” is Jesus’ mandate for each of us who claim to be following Him.” Adventist Review, April 2018.

Maranatha,
R. Danforth Francis
PRESIDENT & RELIGIOUS LIBERTY DIRECTOR

Greetings in the name of Jesus, our Redeemer and Friend.

For some time now, as a Church, we have been praying for Pastor Felix Jack and his family. We wish to thank you for your prayers, encouragement and gifts of love expressed to the family during his sickness.

Today, it is with deep sadness that I inform you of the passing of Pastor Jack. He passed away this morning, February 22, 2019 at his sister’s home in Atlanta, Georgia, after a period of sickness. His wife and children were at his side and have given us the assurance that he died peacefully in the Lord.

As Administration, colleagues and members, we mourn the passing of this dedicated worker. We also express on your behalf, condolences to his grieving family.

Prior to his death, Pastor Jack served as district Pastor in Dominica and subsequently as Ministerial Secretary of the Conference.

We solicit your continued prayers on behalf of his wife Emma; daughter Felesha; son Eron and the entire family circle.

We take comfort in the reassuring words of Revelation 14:13 (NIV) which say “. . . Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them."

Let us be faithful so we can meet our brother again.

Maranatha,

R. Danforth Francis
PRESIDENT & RELIGIOUS LIBERTY DIRECTOR
