Digger had a good day showing on Saturday. He will now be known as CH Shaygar Venetian Tru Blu 'A''Z' BSC . ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ˜ Digger gained the final point to be granted his Champion Title pending Dogs West approval ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพโค

Well last weekend I showed Digger, he was such a good boy gaining some more points towards his Championship Title. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿคฉโค๏ธ

Just to prove itโ€™s not all Digger and Peppa - Here is Alley doing some scent work at home. She is trying to find a small tin 1 1/2 inches x 3/4 of an inch and about 1/4 inch high with a cotton bud tip inside with a small amount of cypress oil on it. I am very happy with her progress in her scent work. I had to video the computer screen as the video was taken on my proper camera and I just could share the original to Facebook ๐Ÿ˜ก so had to be pro active๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜

Do you think Peppa is enjoying Digger's attention ๐Ÿค” I think yes๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

A couple of pictures of Peppa, Digger and myself from last weekend. It was a first for me handling both dogs in their classes and I was so impressed with them as they behaved impeccably, I need to practice running as havenโ€™t run for many years and not fit either. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ•โค๏ธ

I had a strange bird drinking from the birdbath today ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ this one has 4 legs ๐Ÿค” Peppa too lazy to go to the dog's drinking bucket โค๐Ÿพโค

This is how these guys get dirty ๐Ÿค” Alley was having a game with herself till Digger does the steal but Peppa had already done the steal from Digger๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐ŸคฃI will never get a lawn with these guys. Now my clean floor has ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ across it๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ’–

Well it was Peppa's 2nd birthday yesterday and she got a couple of new toys. Can you tell who has been playing with them in the dirt๐Ÿค” left to right Alley, Digger and Peppa ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพโคโคโค๐Ÿ’–

You buy a crate big enough for one dog, turn your back and next thing Alley and Digger in the crate ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ all my dogs love their crates๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพโค this would have to be one of the best type of training, to chill out in a crate with door open or closed. โค๐Ÿฅฐ these guys

As you can see my dogs have such a hard life ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ doesn't matter what the weather is outside they are all calm. Go have a shower and come out to all 3 on the bed. They are my shadows Alley, Peppa and Digger ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ’–

Last weekend was our State Breed Exhibition Show. I had Peppa entered her pedigree name is Volscaro Baby Spice โ€˜Aโ€™โ€™Zโ€™ BSC. First photo after her bath Friday, she put her best performance in and gained 3rd place really happy ๐Ÿ˜ƒ As it was a 2 day show was offered to stay at a friends house as she lives a lot closer so I took her up and stayed. So on the property there was 9 dogs, cat, alpacas, goose, ducks, chickens, parrots, owls & budgies. Peppa was so good especially with the cat, even though in a crate and the cat teasing she took it in her stride and was good. How would your dogs act in strange surroundings with so many different species of animals. I put it down to being crate trained so she was relaxed in her crate. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ƒโค๏ธ

I am being stalked ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ by Alley, Digger and Peppa, go for a shower step out and all 3 waiting for me. First time dogs have been let out the front in the dark ๐Ÿค” always worried kangaroos ๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿฆ˜ are out there and dogs would bark at them. No problem last night ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜€

How relaxed does Digger and Alley look. Peppa is in kennels atm as she is in season. That's my easy option instead of pulling my hair out at home.๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’–

Dogs have settled in well, all run to front gate to check for Roos and rabbits. Alley loves to sit or lay down near gate to do some sentry duties and watch the world go by.๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ Left to right at gate is Peppa, Alley and Digger but front on photos is Digger, Alley and Peppa.๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’–

Well I was going to let dogs out front for a run. ๐Ÿค” Glad I checked first, at one stage 8 kangaroos ๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿฆ˜ even the Joey not afraid if people.

Pet How-Tos and Recipes 16/01/2021

Make sure you wash your dogs water bowls regularly ๐Ÿ˜„

Ever rub your fingers on the inside of your pet's water bowl and you feel a slippery slime of sorts? Well that invisible goo is called Biofilm.

Biofilm is a collection of organic and inorganic, living and dead materials collected on a surface. It is made up of many different types of bacteria bound together in a thick substance that acts as a glue to both hold the bacteria together and adhere it to a surface.

Biofilm can often be good bacteria but there is also the bad!

Biofilms provide a safe haven for organisms like Listeria, E. coli and legionella where they can reproduce to levels where contamination of products passing through that water becomes inevitable.

Bad Biofilms have been found to be involved in a wide variety of microbial infections in the body such as urinary tract infections, middle-ear infections and bladder infections.

Many pet parents are guilty of simply refilling the water bowl over and over without a wash and this becomes a wonderful environment for biofilm to soak around in.

How to reduce Biofilm:

Remember to clean your petโ€™s water bowl at least once a week if you can and change water daily.

For pet daycares where a host of different bacteria float around in water bowls, wash daily!

For best results, run your water bowls through a hot cycle in the dishwasher with an eco friendly, non-toxic soap to really clean out the biofilm!

Rodney Habib Pet Health Site

"An educated, informed and well-researched community of pet owners can only put more pressure on the pet food industry to be better! When pet owners know better, they will only do better!"

(P.S. - I am going to get lambasted over the "wash once a week at least" concept. However, after a wonderful discussion with a well known pro-active veterinarian/scientist, when she studied the bacteria looming in pets' water bowls she found if you have a healthy beast, biofilm can actually be full of wonderful, healthy bacteria. It's like playing in the mud as kids and having good bacteria all over you! So sometimes cleaning regularly can wash all the good stuff away. ;) )

Be mindful even with your own concrete and even your synthetic lawns on how hot they become you can burn your pup or dogs paws easily. Another bad place is the beach sand gets so hot too. Take care of your dogs big or small๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’–

Please remember if the ground is too hot for your bare feet, itโ€™s too hot for your dogs! โ˜€๏ธ

Poor birds never get a chance to have nice fresh clean water around here ๐Ÿค” Alley and Peppa have different ideas. Pretty sure Alley would have tried to get in if I wasn't there๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜˜

Grass seeds are horrible things. 2 years ago Digger had one up his nose and was over 5cm long requiring an operation to remove it. Please check your dog regularly.

GRASS SEEDS. Over the past several weeks, weโ€™ve treated many pets for grass seeds. Weโ€™ve pulled them from stomachs, throats, ears, noses and cut them out where they have buried under the skin. These sharp seeds easily pe*****te tissue and their wispy ends make it impossible for them to travel backwards. They just keep burrowing deeper forwards. Grass seeds are always an issue in Perth between September and February. Please keep your pets away from these grasses, and mow your back yards if you have these there. If your pet has long fur, ideally cut it short and check paws after every walk.

Well dogs are now at our new home. All are in great condition after being in kennels. All have settled in well plus sunset through the trees๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜€โค

Finally the fences are going up, with any luck they will be completed on Monday afternoon so then my dogs can come home. Yay ๐Ÿ˜€ We are settling in bit by bit, no real hurry to unpack everything as long as I have my dog stuff out. Definitely going to be a trying period getting used to new surrounds and smells ๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿค” for them all. Our new home Waroona๐Ÿ˜

Peppa sitting in what was her enclosure, wondering what has happened to it. The move is getting so close now. Uplift on Monday and the dogs are off for another vacation at Nambellup Park Boarding Kennels today. It has been their 2nd home recently. ๐Ÿคž we can get the fences sorted at the new house then they can join us in Waroona๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ“ฆ ๐Ÿงณโค๏ธ

Take Peppa training and she doesn't want to perform ๐Ÿ˜’ take her down the enclosure and she does what we tried to do in the morning ๐Ÿค” the difference is no lead in afternoon ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿงก gotta love themโค

[09/01/20]   I am on the move, we are heading to Waroona in 3 weeks time. So lots and lots to pack etc in such a short time. ๐Ÿงณ ๐Ÿ“ฆ๐Ÿšš๐Ÿ˜

Hi everyone, well itโ€™s been 4 1/2 weeks since shoulder replacement surgery, things are progressing bit by bit. My dogs have been home for 1 1/2 weeks now and naturally I have done no lead work with any of them at the moment. They swim or I take them to the enclosure and let them run. Off to specialist Tuesday and have so many fingers and toes crossed ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž that I wonโ€™t have to wear the sling at nights (really restrictive and uncomfortable ๐Ÿ˜ก) then I might get a better nightโ€™s sleep ๐Ÿฅฑ๐Ÿ˜ด and foremost is he might let me drive ๐Ÿ˜ I can only hope. This may bring a little normality back to my life๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I have always said I would never use a dog park unless it was only me there. Some people learn the hard way and sadly then the damage is done๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ
