The Jarrahdale Log Chop had the greatest crowd attending this year. We in SJ Lions Club say thanks and also if there were any issues to discuss to improve for next year, then we would be only too welling as before to meet up and discuss. Meanwhile you may wish to admire Odin, your apprentice Axemen, being coached by his mum at the event. More on our own Face book Photos . Cheers Richard Lane SJ Lions

Waroona Show

Just in....the 90th annual Waroona Show has been cancelled for this year. The CDAA fully support this decision just passed at a meeting of the Waroona Show committee. The health and safety of our committees, volunteers and the wider community must come first. Bring on 2021!!!

On behalf of the Waroona Agricultural Society Committee I would like to notify that with the COVID-19 phase 4 restrictions still in place and with the added workload for our volunteers, we feel that the health and wellbeing of our Committee, Volunteers and the broader community are of paramount importance to us.
With careful consideration and heartfelt disappointment, we have decided that this years’ 90th Waroona Show will be postponed to 2021.
Eric Walmsley
President

Sadly the show can not go on. Thank you to the wood chopping committee for your efforts thus far in your preparations to bring the events to the 2020 Perth Royal Show. We will hopefully look forward to a big year in 2021. Most importantly though is the health and safety of all the Western Australian community.

A message from Peter Cooper, CEO of the Royal Agricultural Society of WA

“It is with genuine sadness that, in conjunction with the State Government, we confirm the cancellation of the 2020 Perth Royal Show.

“At every step of this process, we have been working with the State Government to develop a safe event which the WA community can be proud of. However, with the continuing outbreaks of COVID-19 in the Eastern States and the reemergence of the virus in New Zealand, it has become increasingly clear that we cannot proceed while simultaneously guaranteeing the safety of the public.

“While there is of course disappointment in making today’s announcement; as the CEO of this distinguished, not-for-profit organisation, I feel enormous pride in the hard work; dedication and courage of all those involved in the preparations for the 2020 event.

“The fact that we were unable to deliver this annual showcase is no reflection on the efforts of our staff; volunteers; competitors and council. On the contrary – their belief in giving the people of WA the event they deserved and their determination in the face of unprecedented challenges, should be applauded.

“While there will be tough decisions to be made over the next few months, one thing is certain. The Perth Royal Show will be back and we look forward to opening our gates to the thousands of showgoers, from across WA, very soon.”

Serpentine Jarrahdale Lions Club

Just to confirm that, whilst we plan to "Log on" next year, this year the annual Log Chop and Lions Country Fair at Jarrahdale has been cancelled. Richard Lane Treasurer SJ Lions.
