Redgum Challenge Edenhope

Comments

The Redgum Challenge Clinic will go ahead as planned on Sat 1st and Sun 2nd Feb. We will operate under the HRCAV extreme weather policy. If people do not wish to ride in the rain they can take a break and seek shelter, but we do not anticipate needing to cancel for wet weather alone. If there is lightning close by we will stop proceedings until safe to recommence, as per HRCAV extreme weather policy.

Held at the spacious Edenhope Adult Riding Club grounds this two day event will showcase the horsemanship inspired by the role of the stock horses of yester and today. Competition will including dry work, time trial, obstacle, jumping and freestyle sections. All levels of experience and age catered for, from Juniors to Open competitors. A great weekend event with family & friends in surrounds ideal for both competition and camping. Enjoy the camaraderie and hospitality of western Victoria.

Mission: To provide a high quality event that challenges experienced competitors, welcomes new competitors in a social and supportive atmosphere.

We hope the lockdown hasn't been too hard on you all. Here's hoping horse events will be up and running in the near future once it's safe to do so.
In the meantime, here's some of our favourite photos from the Redgum Challenge Edenhope 2016. ENJOY THE MEMORIES!

The Redgum Crew would like to express their gratitude to everyone for their lovely comments about the Redgum Challenge and their thanks to the committee for their hard work. We hope everyone has had fun and enjoyed their riding at Redgum over the years. Some of you may have even gotten out of your comfort zone to push yourself, as it is such an encouraging and safe environment to do so. This is a big part of why we run Redgum, and we have been touched by your comments.
To the numerous amazing people who have contacted the committee with offers of help to get this year’s event up and going – THANK YOU! Unfortunately, we think at this late stage, it would be too much of a push to put together an event with the time we have remaining. So we will have a year’s break, and rest assured, we are working through possible alternative scenarios, to ensure the event will run again.
But the future of the Redgum Challenge Edenhope, will be heavily reliant on the number of people who volunteer to help. We’ll be putting the call out later this year, for new blood to join the crew, but in the meantime, thank you, and enjoy some of our favourite photos from the past 5 years, starting with 2015.

It is with great disappointment, that the Redgum committee is announcing the cancellation of the Redgum Challenge Edenhope in 2020. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event would not have been able to be run to the high standards we have always aspired to. We apologize for the late notice and truly appreciate everyone who saved the date with the intention of entering this event.
The members of the Edenhope Adult Riding Club have made a mammoth effort in running the Redgum Challenge over the last five years. We also thank you – the competitors – who ensured it ran for the second year after our rookie effort in 2015, and who kept on turning up, year after year. Your great sportsmanship has been unequalled in the encouragement and support you have all shown to each other.
We trust that you all have had a blast riding at Redgum, and hope you will keep following our page for details of future clinics and, hopefully, the announcement of the NEXT Redgum Challenge Edenhope.

We have enjoyed a fantastic clinic over the weekend! Helpful and generous instruction from Jim and Melinda Moore, Edwina Hare and Noella Angel has hopefully left everyone inspired by new information! We would like to extend our thanks to all our wonderful instructors for a fantastic effort made greater by the wet working conditions.
While on Saturday the rain fell, the participants spirits were not damped and all made use of every opportunity to learn and enjoy the facilities here at the Edenhope Adult Riding Club (EARC). A delicious BBQ dinner with Sticky date pudding for dessert ended the day by the fire.
On Sunday as the weather improved and we were joined by the members of the Apsley Pony Club, it was fantastic to see Noella kept busy assisting people with whip cracking and those keen to make the most of the opportunity to try the Packsaddles on their horses. Perhaps some future entrants in the Lower Lakes Stockmans Challenge & Bush Festival.....
Thank you to all who attended, supported the event, and helped in some way. It was a true team effort from the catering right through to Sunday pack up! Congratulations and thank you to all the EARC club members for their contributions, as without them there is no clinic!
Participants: please note that photos from the clinic can be viewed & purchased by going to FJB Photography by Fiona Baxter.

Good Morning! Clinic day 1 is here. The weather will be wet wet wet, Don’t forget your coat!

Edenhope Adult Riding Club.
Our fantastic instructor for the day is Edwina Hare, a very knowledgable and experienced coach and rider. She is a regular rider at showjumping events and has recently returned from China where she was coaching the Australian Pony Club team.
We are very lucky to have the opportunity to offer coaching sessions with Edwina at the pony club grounds on the 14th.
Sessions start at 9am with jumping held in groups of 3 - 4 @ $15/rider. Individual flat work lessons of 45 minutes are also available @ $40/rider.
Please book your lessons by private messaging me, Carolyn, and I will do my best to accomodate your needs and preferred times.
The Edenhope Adult Riding Club are pleased to offer these coaching sessions at a discounted rate to encourage non members to come and see what a great club we are! These prices are also applicable to riding club members.
Please make sure you book your lessons soon, as there are limited riding spots available. Payment on the day by cash only.
Please see previous post for more details about this day and we look forward to seeing you there!

[06/25/19]   COME AND TRY DAY!

The Edenhope Adult Riding Club are excited to announce that our upcoming rally on Sunday the 14th of July will be a “Come and Try Day” for non members to come and see what our club is all about. We will waive the usual rally fee and have flat work and jumping instructors with whom you can book lessons at a discounted rate, a ride through the scrub adjoining the pony club grounds and some time to play around with some stockman’s challenge obstacles if you wish.

This day is open to everyone of every riding ability or discipline, anywhere within floating distance of Edenhope. Juniors 14 - 18 years are welcome as well, as we have membership options for riders of this age.

We encourage you to bring your own lunch (BBQ supplied), or duck into Edenhope to the bakery or the take away shop.

More details will be coming about this day as things get confirmed. We will just need a registration of interest if you think you’ll be coming, and your lessons will need to be pre booked, but paid for on the day. Please note that our club does not supply Personal Accident and Injury insurance for non members, but we do have full Public Liability cover for all events and riders.

Our club looks forward to meeting lots of new faces and horses, with no obligation to join up, but you will be guaranteed to have a ball in the fun, friendly atmosphere that is the Edenhope Adult Riding Club.

MORE DETAILS COMING SOON.
